  1. Bonnie and Clyde by Serge Gainsbourg and Brigitte Bardot
  2. Catherine Ringer (Les Rita Mitsouko) sings "Je suis venue te dire que je m'en vais" (I came to tell you that I am leaving) from Serge Gainsbourg
  3. Playing patience in the Old Holland Mill, at home, Dutch estate.
  4. This last snowy month at Dutch estate I placed in the old mill framed pics and a drawing from 1963 when the 'hell of 1963' was skated, one of the three of the 'Elfstedentocht (West Frisian: Alvestêdetocht, English: Eleven cities tour) of the last 50 years. The Elfstedentocht of 1963 became known as "The hell of '63" when only 69 of the 10,000 participants were able to finish the race, due to the extremely low temperatures of -18 °C, powder snow and a harsh eastern wind. Conditions were so horrendous that the 1963 winner, Reinier Paping, became a national hero, and the tour itself legendary. Paping could not make out the finishing line as he was snow blind by the end of the race, and many of the contestants had frostbite, broken limbs, and damaged eyes.
  5. Different Trains (1988) by Steve Reich. It is a composition for string quartet and tape. It depicts the train journeys Reich made from 1939 to 1942 between New York and Los Angeles during which he commuted between his divorced parents. He later realised that if he lived as a Jew in Europe at the time he would have been on a very different train. Audio clips are of his governess reminiscing about their travels together, as well as a retired Pullman porter, and three Holocaust testimonies from survivors "all my age and now living in America."
  6. An early song from Nico (before Velvet Underground) with newfound video recordings!
  7. And what do you think of classical music and surrealistic video art? I am a big fan of the progressive Russian video art kollective AES+F. Their video's are really something. A bit scary, alien, but also paradise-like but in a dystopian way. And very Second Life-like!
  8. Max Richter - The New Four Seasons – Vivaldi Recomposed: Summer 3
  9. Michael Gordon: Light is Calling with Ashley Bathgate, cello.
  10. Ever heard a concert for swans and orchestra? Of course it exists 🙂. Here it is: Cantus arcticus, Op. 61, "Concerto for Birds and Orchestra": III. Swans Migrating
  11. I'm glad you like it! As a child, I did listen to classical music, but didn't distinguish between classical and pop at all. As a child, you just listen to what's exciting and interesting. Those divisions are not there at all then. That's how I started with the fairy tale of Peter and the wolf. There is classical music that is more pregnant and loud than the hardest metal. I just listen to what I like, regardless of genre, that is my only criterion. I think there is still that child in me 😉
  12. On the chaise longue in the salon of villa Utrecht at my home.
  13. Night of Enchantment La Noche de los Mayas "Noche de Encantamiento" from Silvestre Revueltas by L'Orchestre de Paris.
  14. Almost like a film noir movie, really beautifully dramatic.
  15. If you like to know more about the house, here is an interview that Froukje, who created the villa, had with Desigining worlds. It's all about the villa.
  16. LOL, well I know from Dutchie who has created the villa and furniture that the house dates from 1850, but since then there have been made severall modifications to meet the comforts of the times without compromising the atmosphere.
  17. It remains a relentless quest. For years I have been searching for a gentleman's dressing gown! One of those that gentlemen of standing used to wear in the house OVER their clothes. But it's hard to find a dressing gown on MP that fits OVER a neat shirt with a tie and trousers. Most are not suitable for wearing clothes underneath. Finally found one (Grasshopper). Many colour options. Not quite ideal yet. Long coats/robes always keep looking odd when sitting in a chair, but this one isn't too bad. So I can finely play the gentleman of standing LOL.
  18. I used to often take souvenirs from holidays in RL, not anymore because I have enough stuff. But while staying at Hotel Chelsea, I suddenly felt the need - apart from inspiration which I find plenty there - to take something home. I found the leather chair of the Chelsea lobby on MP and placed it at home by the fireplace in my library. For future nostalgic moments.
  19. He is! I love jack Russells. They are so smart, enthusiastic and lively, heart-warming. You have to raise them well though, they have a mind of their own ;-).
  20. Walking with Keesie. By the way, I am also stil at Chelsea's, but I am now travelling to and from home and the famous hotel.
  21. I don't think the fairy tale castle and swan cave of the so called mad king from Bavaria, Ludwig II excists at Second Life. if anyone knows if there is a SL version, please tell me! I went straight to Bavaria to see it after seeing the movie Ludwig from Visconti.
  22. This theatre is wild! Beyond baroque.
  23. Back home in the library, my favorite room of villa Utrecht! (and I have made a small podcast about how to pronounce 'villa Utrecht' in Dutch, also for the name of the cottage 'Hedwigepolder' - I hear English speaking say something like Headwitch polder LOL) and my name 🙂. For me it's just for fun, I don't earn money by making it.). Anyways, I always have a good time hearing non Dutch people pronounce Dutch words, sorry! I amcertainly not a very good English speaker, so I also make laughable mistakes ;-).
