  1. As long as you don't mean up-to-the-minute breaking news type stuff! Anyone in the group can send out a message to all. (When it was first set up, several used it to alert the others of houses they were about to abandon in the wee hours.)
  2. To avoid lots of distracting responses from me, please consider a 'like' reaction from me as an invitation sent. You can also send me a message when logged into SL - will check for them and respond ~2PM SL time.
  3. Hello, all! A friend has just alerted me to this bit of the conversation. Yes, I set up the Belli Home Hoppers group back in August (?). My intent was not for it to be a chat-oriented group like the very large and active Bellisseria Citizens, but an informal network of people who'd been active on this forum thread during the summer so that we could keep in touch and find some friends within SL. I'd sent invitations to 40+ people who were regular contributors to this thread, and 14 responded by joining. My plan was to encourage those of us in the group to hold a series of open houses, once we'd settled in, and I was intending to start the ball rolling before Christmas. Unfortunately, several weeks of ill health limited my own efforts to get things done. (I'm a RL photographer, so one part of my house is being set up as a gallery, where I hope to hold bi-monthly open house exhibitions.) My situation is better now, and I'd been aiming to get in touch with the group with an invite to my house for 12th-16th Feb., but now a family funeral in a different part of the country means I'll be away from my computer for much of next week. I'd be happy to open the group to more people who are active here (I've only popped into this thread occasionally since I'm staying put in Walrus Beach) and am likewise open to designating interested folks as 'officers' , but am not keen to make it an "anyone can join" group as there are alternatives with that approach. So, anyone who wants to join - whether you're still hopping about or settled - add your name to this post, along with a note about what you'd like the group to be/do, and I'll send you an invitation. (Just be aware that I won't be able to respond between the 12th-15th.) PS- Apologies for this digression from "When did you last see...", but I do want the membership of Belli Home Hoppers to be drawn from this thread. (Yes, feel free to give me the names of your alts as well!) (Still working on optimizing the resolution of the photos.)
  4. Quercus alba = the scientific name for White Oak; a heavily-wooded area?
  5. Just swing your camera around until you can see the mailbox. I’ve been stuck inside the staircase of some Victorians when first TPing into them, and I can only move by using this method to rez a Doyle, then run to the front or back yard before the new house rezzes. Once you’re outside and have re-rezzed the house, try what Sylvia says.
  6. That was my alt’s (I left it as a pink Doyle) - a lovely spot that I only abandoned as the partly sandy plot didn’t suit the plants I have in my inventory. (I took some photos to post here but got distracted by the impeachment hearings.) So glad it went to someone who appreciates it!
  7. I had previously noticed the magenta squares, which are plentiful; this was the first time I've seen different-colored dots. Thanks. (Responding to Eowyn; forgot to quote!)
  8. Does anyone know what/who *pink* dots on the map represent?
  9. Ah, I've been away from this page for a while... (Still trying to decide if I'll abandon my Walrus Beach place, or upgrade my alt again.)
  10. Patch showed up in Chat about 5 minutes ago. So, for those looking, release within the next hour?
  11. Do keep checking this week if you can - the large release of Victorian regions can happen any time between now and Christmas! But, as others have said, if you're not online at the time the frenzy happens, there will be abandoned houses you should be able to pick up fairly easily later that day/evening. And just because someone else has abandoned it doesn't mean you won't like it yourself! Most regions contain 16-20 parcels. The part of Bellisseria that we're all referring to as being 'Victorian' will contain (by my estimate) between 2500-2600 homes, with a substantial number of them released in a single day. In terms of finding our what's happening regarding that release, follow this thread (see attached), and if you see a flurry of incoming comments, no need to read them all, just go to the Land Page if you can and start clicking and refreshing. Good luck!
  12. No way to know for sure during LL working hours on weekdays, unless you accept and manage to grab it. Anything you see 'after hours' will be an abandoned property. And keep in mind that if you want to abandon a house you've grabbed, you must be in-world on the parcel to do that before you can attempt to grab another house.
  13. Except that the Moles are, technically, mistaken: Jane Austen wrote and died before the Victorian era began. (And a couple of Knightley's feature in her book, Emma.) There's at least one character of Sir Walter Scott's (Ivanhoe) and one from Dickens (Dombey).
  14. Here are screengrabs of the map with the new region names. (I posted these in another topic thread but thought it worth re-posting them here.)
  15. Can't tell from your map if these new regions were actually named at the time you took your screengrab, but they are now, and having checked 4 random ones, they're also showing up in Search. (Earnshaw next to Linton next to Lockwood - At least one mole is a fan of Victorian Lit... though, technically, the Austen references in the parcels above those aren't Victorian.)
  16. Inside the Hardy - the walls have *texture*, and notice the wear around the window frames and the baseboard. (I think I'll be abandoning my lovely Walrus Beach home for one of these!)
  17. Very laggy (no surprise), but I got inside the Doyle (bungalow) showhome - very nice detailing on the doors and each room has different color walls.
  18. That was my alt's parcel - I'd only gone premium on that account for a month to grab the content packs for HBs and campers, and to see what the campers were like. It's a truly lovely location which I returned a couple of weeks ago when the account was about to go back to Basic. It changed hands twice in 24 hours. I think it's definitely a keeper for anyone who wants a camper near water; it looks good with lots of wild grasses and wildflowers! (The grasses and bushes to the right were my additions; there's a Mole-built bush with lilac flowers and butterflies on the other side by the rocky outcrop.)
  19. For anyone looking for a trailer/tiny house: I resurrected my original work avatar for a month to see what the trailers were about (and to grab the textures. etc.) Got a lovely parcel in Toad Hollow which I'm going to release as the month has come to an end. Closest to the river; view of a bridge to the front right; side right has a rocky outcrop which obscures the houses; the trailer behind is at a higher level (the slope between looks really nice if you add some tall grasses and/or wildflowers; trailer to the right is at a lower level and hidden from view. http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Toad Hollow/158/57/26 I'll release it at 6PM SL time (that's in about 15 minutes)! Good luck!
  20. It did feel like the equivalent of taking out a $200,000 mortgage Had I seen one or two of the other kitchens shown here, I wouldn't have gone for it.
  21. Yes! For 1, 2, 3/4 avatars - everything rezzes when you sit and select an option. (I was intending to attach a different photo, and can't seem to delete these , but here's a link that should take you directly to the kitchen set up at the store: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Dutchie furniture/207/127/23 )
  22. This is Dutchie's PG Corner Kitchen - 30 LI. Several different color options, all the 'bits' are linked, except for the clock, which is included. Used in the Winchester. Lots of animations. (The table and chairs and food are also from Dutchie.) I put together the tiled splashback myself.
  23. The rooflines shown in the video look uneven - thatched? Crofter's cottages? Log cabins? May be time to invest in some animated sheep and chickens...
