Also, when I maximize the FS window, it covers everything else, including it's own system-level toolbar (or perhaps doesn't even have one?), so I cannot minimize it and I cannot access the Dock.

Drag your mouse cursor to the top of the screen and you’ll get the menu bar back, click the green dot to switch back to windowed mode. You can also use ctrl-arrow to switch between desktops while FS is full screen.

  2. LL removed Windows 7 from the system requirements when Microsoft ended support. As long as the viewers run, they should be able to login. Maybe someone can offer more help if you add some detail as to what's going on. You should really upgrade to Windows 10 though.

Thanks :) I'm glad your second shot symptoms were mild.

I also only got the card...hmm...will ask if they have a sticker too when I get Jab #2!

My card has stickers on it, so I guess that's something.

The side effects weren't bad either. Just a little soreness at the injection spot.

  4. There's probably a debug setting for that. I had a similar problem with an AMD card and I don't know what fixed it, it just started working again one day.

Just a quick look at FS debug settings FSDisableAMDTextureMemoryCheck or FSATIFullTextureMem may have something to do with it. Or you could see if you can set the texture memory manually. The debug setting TextureMemory does that. Maybe as simple as resetting graphics to default settings.

Oh, this is not computer advice, and I deny all knowledge if you ***** up your computer messing with debug settings.

This all sounds really confusing to me but it does sound like the issue seems to be with SL itself. I've dropped the screenshots below of my current settings.

With your current settings you should get very good frame rates with almost anything. This suggests there is something else wrong with your computer setup. I’d run a malware scan first off, then check the performance monitor in task manager to see if something else is going nuts and eating up your computer’s CPU cycles.

Things you should not have to do with a reasonably modern computer with a high performance GPU:

turn off anisotropic filtering or antialiasing, disable transparent water, use a draw distance < 128M.

You should have streamed VBOs enabled, but disabling it won’t tank your frame rate.

  6. It’s Big Sur 11.2. I got my hands on another MacBook that shipped with 11.1, and SL ran fine on it. Upgraded to 11.2.3 and the frame rate dropped in half. It’s a great laptop,  but crap for SL. Maybe 11.3 will fix that or someone will bring out a universal binary viewer.

If there is enough vaccine to vaccinate everyone who wants / needs it, will you be afraid of the people who chose not to vaccinate?

I haven't heard a good reason why I should be worried about others once I am fully vaccinated.

    Never getting COVID under control.
