  1. I hate it. I loved listening to people carrying on in the safe hubs. Make Arapaima great again!
  2. Here's one. Does it come from a web site promoting chemtrails, NWO conspiracies and climate change "skepticism"? If it does, it's not a scientific paper.
  3. What studies? That idiotic article claiming masks are neither safe for effective? Which is contradicted by like every public health agency in the world. That dreck deserves no response but ridicule for even linking to it.
  4. Neither the Healthline nor the Health.com article you linked to said anything about masks increasing the number of heart attacks. The Healthline article stated why heart attack deaths have increased, and it’s not because of masks. I don’t need to disprove your stupidity, you already did it.
  5. Your garbage is dangerous. You should be banned from the forums.
  6. I remember seeing an Australian YouTuber mention that their flu season has been extremely quiet this year. Did a quick check and found this: https://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/volumes/69/wr/mm6937a6.htm
  7. I've been messing around with an M1 MacBook Pro some this evening (16GB model). It seems competitive in SL with a 2018 15" MacBook with an AMD Radeon Pro 560X, The screen scaling is different, so it's not quite apples to apples. I was getting decent performance with ALM on and 128M draw distance in both the Linden viewer and Firestorm (full screen). No shadows and minimum water reflections. In Chakryn forest they both do the mid-20s. Everwinter Nights ranged from 20-ish and down to the teens. Acceptable, but not great. Single digits at Moochie's Winter Wonderland, but that place is bruta
  8. I can’t think of a single graphics card that has DirectX drivers but not OpenGL drivers.
  9. I have never seen it on a PC. I enabled it on one to see what it does. It looks like the big change is it locks the CPU speed at 100% no matter what you're doing. Which seems extremely wasteful. If I used it for SL, I would only use it for SL and switch back to balanced as soon as I logged out.
  10. Yes it works on WiFi. LL's recommendation against WiFi is as dated as all of their other recommendations. Since it's just started in the past week, my first inclination would be to think it has something to do with Uplift and everything being moved to AWS in their cloud. Something either in your computer or router may be interfering with getting a reliable connection. One way to test this would be to login to a region that's still hosted on LL's servers, but I don't know what that would be. If anyone does know maybe they'd post it here. If your computer is a laptop, try logging in on
  11. Favorite Christmas song? Probably Christmas in Hollis or Christmas Wrapping Least Favorite, Do they Know it's Christmas or Grandma Got Run Over By a Reindeer. Favorite Christmas movie: Die Hard. (caveat: I have not seen "Silent Night, Deadly Night" yet). Least Favorite Christmas movie: It's a Wonderful Life.
  12. A study showing masks are minimally effective when used in a population where masks are not mandated or in common use. Are there any potential flaws in this study that anyone can see? Anyone? The big tech companies that are censoring idiots arguing against basic public health measures during a pandemic are absolutely right in doing so.
  13. I cannot wait for the Linden response to the minimum requirements. @Prokofy Nevaplease post the transcript here. I very much want to know the details of how their QC testing of that hardware fever dream went. Or tell me when it is and I will go too.
  14. I am thankful that this year I am able to celebrate Thanksgiving in the traditional fashion of my people. Sitting at my computer, in my underwear with Corona Light and Chinese takeout arguing with other idiots on the internet.
  15. Chill out, did I say it was your fault? I said that's not how power management settings work. You know what mechanical devices all eventually do? They wear out. It doesn't matter how much you baby your computer, the mechanical components will wear out. Some, like your fan, faster than others. Changing the power setting isn't going to radically change that. They will all run the computer within the manufacturer's specifications. The explanation for your crappy fan crapping out short of its rated MTBF is more likely a manufacturing defect in the fan rather than anything you, Windows or Seco
