While I understand that it is a difficult situation to deal with ban evaders, I don't think disabling voice leaving a large trail of no voice parcels is the best solution. Unfortunately while I believe that, it also appears to be the only solution. It isn't like they can just have someone from governance sit there and babysit them all day, and having some sort of automated detection isn't possible either.

I think the best solution would be to leave voice on in a couple of the safe hubs and take them off the list of places to route people to when their last location isn't available. That way who cares? That way anyone who goes there is going there on purpose and people who want to voice and mess around with the decor can without annoying anyone else.

Neither were the studies I asked you to refute. They were simply proofs of the higher heart attack rates since Covid and masks became a thing.

What studies? That idiotic article claiming masks are neither safe for effective? Which is contradicted by like every public health agency in the world. That dreck deserves no response but ridicule for even linking to it.

Disprove those studies and I will leave voluntarily. Until you refute it, it is your opinions that may be dangerous and potentially leading to the large increases in heart attacks.

Neither the Healthline nor the Health.com article you linked to said anything about masks increasing the number of heart attacks. The Healthline article stated why heart attack deaths have increased, and it’s not because of masks. I don’t need to disprove your stupidity, you already did it.

  4. I've been messing around with an M1 MacBook Pro some this evening (16GB model). It seems competitive in SL with a 2018 15" MacBook with an AMD Radeon Pro 560X, The screen scaling is different, so it's not quite apples to apples.

I was getting decent performance with ALM on and 128M draw distance in both the Linden viewer and Firestorm (full screen). No shadows and minimum water reflections. In Chakryn forest they both do the mid-20s. Everwinter Nights ranged from 20-ish and down to the teens. Acceptable, but not great. Single digits at Moochie's Winter Wonderland, but that place is brutal on everything. Ultra is a no-go. Switching to Ultra in Chakryn Forest dragged the frame rate straight to single digit hell.

The Linden viewer defaulted to HiDPI on, I'd turn that off. You don't really need it. The display is absolutely amazeballs. Do the kids still say that? Well it is. Apple makes the best displays.

One major reason I went with the Pro over the Air is the Pro has fans. I'm not sure they've ever come on.

I was skeptical when news started leaking about Apple moving to ARM. There are still some issues to iron out, but my first impressions of this thing are that it's great. I would buy this hands down over the 13" Intel MacBook.

I can’t think of a single graphics card that has DirectX drivers but not OpenGL drivers.

  6. Yes it works on WiFi. LL's recommendation against WiFi is as dated as all of their other recommendations.

Since it's just started in the past week, my first inclination would be to think it has something to do with Uplift and everything being moved to AWS in their cloud. Something either in your computer or router may be interfering with getting a reliable connection. One way to test this would be to login to a region that's still hosted on LL's servers, but I don't know what that would be. If anyone does know maybe they'd post it here.

If your computer is a laptop, try logging in on another network, or a wired connection if you can. That would either confirm or eliminate your router as the problem. Try another WiFi adapter if you can. It's kind of a long shot, but you may have a bum WiFi adapter in your computer.

Finally, check your router to make sure no one is mooching your WiFi, do a malware scan and a hard drive scan. Make sure your clock is set right.
