  1. So as a person that been here a while, I always check MP's top-selling products page. Of course, my MP is set to show all product ratings. I have to use the computer in the living while I sit on the couch due to a recent leg injury not allowing me to bend my knee. I check the page, giggle at some of the products, then got off the couch, leaving the top products page open, and walk into my garden to get a little sunshine. My father-in-law stopped in, and we told them at this time to walk in and yell hello as it takes me a bit to get off the couch to answer the door. If you have seen the top products page in full ratings, it is full of butt holes, female private parts, and seaman systems. When I walk into the living room from outside, my in-law is standing in the living room looking straight at my screen, talking on his phone in a whisper, and I hear, "it's full of sick, sick, deprived images." Then he notices me and says loudly, "ok dear, and I just got here, I will pick you up at work.", looks at me and says, " I'm going to pick (wife name here) at work." and walks out the door. My wife is an SL singer for 11 years and checks top product daily, too...but I can not wait until I hear what was said on their ride. It should be here in minutes.. UPDATE So when they returned, we had a little Secondlife lesson showing and explaining what he saw. He is a retired salesman who sold cars to international businesses and understood that many of these things might be odd, but sales is a sale in his book. I am a script developer in SL for 14 years on two accounts. I make geeky games like D&D style quest to Blackjack; after I showed him my games/site and sim, I now have a new critic..."See what you need to do to make it better is this..." by the end of last night he made a free account and claims "I'm going to teach you how to be better branded and sales-ready." ...I should have told him I am into butt MP holes and female parts and endure the odd holiday dinners...
  2. For 3 years I rented land in a sim that is 1L per prim, I have moved so many times, the fact is all these 1L a prim places allow breedable pet farms to move in and it lags the sim to a point it looks like pages of a book being turned for my FPS or noob towers, or my fav the person that builds a huge box around their land they texture on the inside but leave it default yellow wood for every one outside the box to look at. I finally said F it and bought a sim from LL, I only need a small parcel for my needs and hope to do some rentals. My sales can support the sim but I just hate having more then I needs I'm a minimalist in RL and SL, I believe should not use more then you need. I tried splitting the sim into parcels and put large rock walls as dividers, built a website. I just hate the rock wall separating the land part, place I rent all do this and seem to keep renters flowing in and out. The fact that renting is not going to make or break me I and rethinking the walls and lay out and wanted to make it a rental sim I like the look of, the walls are just driving me crazy now it is done. If any one would like to put in their 2 cents on rental sim lay outs it would help.
  3. If people act in RL like they do is SL we see tons of people locked up or have a bashed in face, ok that was a little extreme but some of these people act like a 5 year old that just ate a clothes washing tablet. The stuff people say and do at times blows me away, knowing a LARGE part of SL are over 40...the stats show over 50% of SLers are 40 and up (me included) and act like this online.
  4. For four months, I have been playing with auto attaching things, with and without experience. I am tested 10,000 times with 700 different avatars at Origins of sim RP sim. Here, I found Using prim rez on the ground, people click to attach - 100%, seems never to fail. Auto attaches on the landing of sim - 98%, 1/2 out of 100 seems not to find the avatars. Auto attaching at log into SL - 80%, people with large inventory seem to fail, I think, due to the race time of logging into SL services. I am attaching from a HUD - 65% in the past week, 95% before Oct 12th. A fail-safe system that talks to the HUD and tilter on a timer to make sure all is fine helps a lot but makes lag in the sim when over 20 people with the HUD and server chattering. (even compressed message) The past week I have seen more errors like link messages failing to send messages between links, HTTP issues, packet loss, and wow, the lag at times. I hope this move to the cloud helps. In almost 100% of the time, if the user having attaches issues clears catch. Log off and on seems to fix the problem that I could test on a legion of testing bots I had access to. Every time we ran into issues, either a sim reset o user relog seem to fix the problem. I can not imagine it's the script in error. If that was the case, those actions should not clear up the issue. I even had a very well-respected coder look it over and agree that it is an SL issue of finding agents and lining up the needed services.
  5. I am trying to make a script that counts the amount of prims a avatar has in a region (while belonging to group) not the owner of the region but renters in the region. So far I have a script that counts the objects that are set to group, but i cant figure out how to get the key of the prims owner. any direction on how I do this would be great, I have searched the forums and the SLS wiki with out much luck.
  6. nvm...Fixed, my system only needed to be adjusted 3 seconds to work, I had it set at 2 before the attach command was sent.
  7. so in the end, this system above is cool , but it keeps rezzing piles of HUDs "waiting" and if they don't apply they just sit there at on e point 30 HUDs and just kept rezzing more, if I add a die timer it cant seem to catch people logging into the sim on log in as there not a HUD waiting. I know this works as there a sim out there doing it, but they will not share how. I thank you all for the help but I think the sim owners will have to hire some one to handle this part as just making 2 list , comparing if some one new and rezing a HUD to attach seems to be a task out of my reach at least on log into SL in the region.
  8. ok will do, it's getting close, atm I got it one out of 2, so we getting there!! very exciting and once again thank you this is a great learning experience, your example answered other question I have wanted to know for a while, your dynamic with your systems teaching people like me better directions to take when developing .
  9. I agree its in the timing, atm its works 1 out of 2 times on log in with 4 avs in a test sim on log in.
  10. this is great, I see a few things I can edit for the busy region and its a go!! Wow this is amazing, thank you so much.
  11. nvm, It worked on 2ns test, think its my region, thank you So much, I can learn a lot off this example. you rock!
  12. sorry I had to paint the house, wife won that fight, it works good for one avatar in testing when I bring in 2 avatars it only applied to 1 of them leaving the other av to not have the HUD. I keep chipping away at it, thank you so much for the help
  13. the idea I had failed, still did not work when you log into SL with in the region.
  14. here my work around the HUD hits its timer event even set for 60 seconds, so I have now when the timer event hits to yell in a channel "TIMER:UID THAT GOT MISSED" as the HUD is getting the proper UID and it even goes threw ATTACH command with the UID and still fails, its got to be a asset server thing.,when my server get the failed message it removed the person from the in sim list and places them back into the new list and runs the attach again, works like a charm in testing, i'm going to go live in the sim tonight when we have 30/50 people and see how it works with heavy load
  15. I try it out, thx as always Rolig!
  16. the attach is auto, they once the accept the experience it just autos,I keep the server at the way up in the air, it works flawless, the whole region is covered by the experience , what is confusing is the HUD is getting the uid with int he timer event, it event triggers the attach command and yells it out, I have the timer set to 30 seconds, I have a click to auto apply if it fails at landing. its only when they Log into SL in the region, tping into the sim is working 100%, many rent homes in the sim, when they log into SL their standing in their home, the server see them, rez the HUD , it gets the attach command and runs it, it's not a timer thing. the only thing I can think of is having the HUD yell a command after attach that adds them to the InSim list.
  17. I have a system that monitors a sim. It runs 2 lists, one for new the other Here, new is the new people that enter the sim, Here being who is currently at the sim. Thew system compares list, adds, and removes people so there not stacking of HUDs. It all works great until you log into SL in the region, it will not attach the HUD. I did debug, and it is calling out the UID correct. The HUD receives the message. I even change the llDie timer for 10 seconds as it takes a few seconds when your logging in to load everything, and still, it will be given the correct uid but will not attach. I have timers in the HUD giver for sending UID messages, the HUD is getting the message, and still, it will not attach. One person told me it was due to SL security not allowing experiences to accept and attach at log in until you in the asset server. Any advice?
  18. still a fail, I just can not seem to figure it out, after 6 hours of trying. i'm just trying to get a list of who is there, who has left, and who is new, offer Attach the HUD t the new person, I can get it working with a can system, that gives me only 96 meters, they want it region wide. wwrrraaaaaa this my last attempt, I know..it's bad. integer count = 0; integer add; list previous; list ListRemoveList(list keep, list remove) { while (llGetListLength(remove)) { keep = llParseString2List( llDumpList2String(keep, ","), llList2List(remove, 0, 6) + [","], [] ); remove = llDeleteSubList(remove, 0, 6); } return keep; } default { state_entry() { llSetTimerEvent(5.0); } on_rez(integer y){} timer() { list present = llGetAgentList(AGENT_LIST_REGION, []); list whohasleft = ListRemoveList(previous, present); // ... remove whohasleft from the game list whoisnew = ListRemoveList(present, previous); // ... add whoisnew to the game integer what = llGetListLength(whoisnew); if(what == 0){}else{ llRequestExperiencePermissions((key)llList2String(whoisnew, 0), ""); // for next time we do the scan previous += llList2String(whoisnew, 0); } } experience_permissions(key target_id) { llMessageLinked(LINK_SET,999,"",target_id); add = count + 1; count = add; llSetText((string)add,<1,1,1>,1.0); } experience_permissions_denied( key agent_id, integer reason ) { } }
  19. hello Molly, thank you for your help explaining the listing commands, I look more into it, thank you for your help.
  20. I do have a system in the HUD that prevents stacking, if the HUD hears the owners uid and the attach command it will detach and die() the current, all prism are temp and it has a timer that will delete if more then 2 seconds go bye with out attaching.I think the problem is exactly what you said about deleting the list in the global.Thank you for you help Roling
