. . . I think it needs to be made clear that the person at fault here is Woody MacNoob. And by "made clear," I don't merely mean that the any penalty exacted by Governance falls in his head -- it has to be clear to the community as a whole that Little Johnny is the one with the "rights" in this instance.

So how do we let Woody (brand new avatar 4 hours ago) that he's at fault for being somewhere naked that allows him to be naked?  That might be a stretch.

    Linden have thought this thru

any child avatar content which is not compliant with the new rules has to be withdrawn from the market. Linden will (like they always do in change times) allow some latitude for the adjustment to be made but in time all non-compliant content will no longer be available for sale

That's a really good thing then. I had no idea they did that.

Yabusaka owner is MIA i was trying to get a dev kit for one of their avatars.  They had a few things for sale in someone else's shop and that's it.  I doubt that avatar will get updated.

Well that's a shame since it's a pretty pricey paperweight *figuratively* at 750L.

I sure hope LL has a plan for this.

  4. So in the interest of me understanding would this avatar now be banned as of 6/30 unless the avatar maker released a skin or the body with a modesty panel?

    https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/Yabusaka-Baby-mesh-avatar-B/3584701

If so then LL needs to take things like this OFF the marketplace so that people don't buy it thinking they are able to use them.

I don't think LL thought this through enough.

I think they are talking about more along the lines of actually just learning the ToS and the rules, not trying to conform to a certain view point, instead of being in mass panic mode.

Don't you think if these region owners cared at all they would have already read the TOS and the rules? The thing is they don't care, they don't have to care and it's their playhouse.

If you want your own playhouse where you make the rules, well then you are going to have to shell out some money to get it.

I would complain, as well, if I went to a sim for so many moons, knew everyone, got along with everyone and then suddenly banned from my favorite sim I spent so much time on and established relationships with people there.

Then make yourself a bit taller and go there. Make yourself short when you are not there. Simple, yeah?  The only one banning you from a sim is youself.

Okay so as to clear things up. What are your standards for an adult avatar?

It doesn't matter what MY standards are. It only matters what LL standards are. I think unless they actually TELL us no one will know.

Perhaps they are being ambiguous on purpose but I don't see a reason to be. In fact, I see that there is a need for exact criteria as to what is and isn't considered a child avatar.  Telling the community to use their best judgement on something that could possibly get them permanently banned is inexcusable and irresponsible of LL.

They haven't even put a picture up of what the modesty panels SHOULD look like. We are all guessing.

You don't hit General Discussion often enough!  We get trolling sock puppets here!  It's truly something to watch.

It's really more fun to watch in SL when the 6 different avatars claim they are different people but in reality are the same and they come up with elaborate stories to explain things.

They don't look like adult avatars to you but your perception isn't really relevant is it?!

Demanding that everyone conform to your definition of what an adult should look like when there are residents from all over the world with many different cultural perceptions is extremely narrow minded.

I am not demanding anything.  I even stated that I wouldn't AR anyone unless they were 1. An avatar that looked like a child in an Adult region or 2. An avatar that looked like a child on a nude beach.

However, I have now changed my criteria for what and who I will be sending in an AR.

Yeah, the average Asian woman is 5'1" to 5'2" average breast size is A cup to B cup, just like global average

and compared to U.S. women, who average at 177Lbs, Asian women average around 122Lbs

American Women, however, isn't that taller on Average because the average American woman is 5'3" 5'4".

Japan, however, is Ranked at 118 in height, while America is I think 47?

Well SL isn't real life and our avatars don't look like adult avatars if we model them around this criteria.  So, while it may be true in RL it doesn't translate to SL at all.

Not sure why people aren't getting that.

If you have an avatar, that is technically your puppet that you are controlling, so technically we are all puppet masters, controlling a puppet so if your puppet is you, you're technically a puppet.

We are all playing with dolls here.

If you are not a regular user of the forum you don't really understand what that means. :) but that's okay.

Well Psychopathy is a neuropsychiatric disorder marked by deficient emotional responses, lack of empathy, and poor behavioral controls, commonly resulting in persistent antisocial deviance and criminal behavior.

Ah you're a puppet. I get it now. I'm sad I didn't see it before.

It begs the question then why they were being AR'ed other then the reporter is hoping Governance can find something to ban them for.

I see any AR report as an express attempt by a reporter to have a resident banned from Secondlife.

What's wrong with that? If they are breaking the TOS then they should be banned or at least told not to do it again.

Well that's what I was trying to point out not all of them are child avatar's.

Then it would be up to LL to decide if they are or are not. Resident's still have the right to AR them if they believe they are.

I think that is where the disconnect with you is. Just because someone AR's you doesn't mean you did anything wrong. If you didn't then nothing to worry about, right?

Simple solution. Don't undress until you can actually see the people around you.

Let's be realistic for a minute. IF this scenario happens it's less that a miniscule amount. If it gets AR'd even less than that. If LL takes it seriously as a violation even less.

I would hope that... say I, all of a sudden, start sending in TONS of AR reports on July 1 that are unsubstantiated then that would be considered a misuse of the AR system and I should get a reprimand for it including a perma ban if it continues.

My personal fav.. not. Is when I'm dancing with someone and they ask "what are you thinking about"

[me, silently to myself]; I'm thinking about why your asking this question.

Well you know they want you to say "i'm thinking about how lucky I am darling to be dancing with such a handsome man"

When you are really thinking "I shouldn't have eaten that 5th taco and now where are my tums"

    Au contraire.

You can have as many lewd statues and tentacle creatures as you wish in Belli, as long as they are not visible to someone casually walking by your home. You can have them inside your house or inside a skybox, as long as your parcel is not advertised as an Adult venue or store.

I little camming around Belli will reveal all kinds of Adult toys and art. 😉

Well, she was talking about her front lawn so that is what I addressed.

Personal opinions on subjects are often based on age, background, race as has been mentioned by others.   Westerners might see Asian avatars as younger.  Younger users might see some avatars as old and older people may see them as younger.  A lot goes into subjectivity in regards to avatar age.

Right like when someone said my avatar picture looked 53-55 or whatever old age they thought would offend me. I'm like cool cause you just gave me back a few years. ;)
