  1. I work with saved outfits. BoM makes this so much easier than appliers. Right now I have around 230 saved outfits in my main avi. The main theme of each outfit is in the title. I also have a Wordfile which has a bit more detail.

My main inventory categories are the usual stuff. Avi, hair, clothes, shoes, jewellery, cosmetics, then all the other misc stuff, with sub categories.

I also keep a deliveries folder with the same sub folders where I keep all my opened boxes. Some of these add as shopping bags which can be useful, and also for a quick redelivery.

Using saved outfits means that I can flip easily between outfits with one click.

  2. I get asked occasionally.

    SLT+8

    UK.

If they then ask where.....Yorkshire. it's a big county. You can drive all day without leaving it.

    That's me done.

If they ask when I'm in world, it's easier to list when I'm not.

    Never after 12noon SLT.

Never on a Tuesday or Wednesday.

The rest of the time is unpredictable. I'm a moving target.

I used to live in Central Time and was always missing out on things in SL. Then, 16 years ago I moved to Pacific Time (SLT). Nothing changed except I still can't get a decent night's sleep. My body clock is forever stuck in CST.

One day, I would like to stage a late night/early morning away mission into the REAL SL. But sadly laptops in bed has never been my thing.

One more thing about my long time Dutch friend. He attempts jokes in English and sometimes misses the spot totally. Maybe a marker of fluency is the ability to hit the joke spot every time!

  4. Sadly most of the worthwhile social events kick off at 12noon SLT.

For me to be in world at that time...8pm UK time, is exceptionally rare. We eat between 7 and 8pm. So I'm usually gone before 11am SLT.

I can't help think that I miss out on most of the action. Like being a kid sent to bed while the grown ups party.

On the bright side I can easily get into shopping events.

  5. I could easily write a TL:DR post about this, but I won't. Just a few bullet points:

I rarely meet anyone from the UK.

I meet a lot of Dutch people. The Dutch have excellent English, usually with an identifiable style.

Two of my closest SL friends from Europe have English language skills equal to any native speaker.

    I have no language skills.

Most people I meet in SL are USA or Canada, which makes regular socialising difficult, but we make it work.

The most important commodity in SL is TIME. Time and Timezones interfere with serious buddying.

Guys from the USA, France and Italy are sort of identifiable by how they interact.

I've learned things about the Netherlands, Sweden, USA, and Canada from my closest friends.

Think yourselves lucky that this is the short version.😜

  6. I had a house which had all that ^^^^ stuff, except a bathroom. The single upstairs room doubled up as bedroom and a shower cubicle and vanity unit. But all I did there was hang around doing outfits. I had guests over when it was new but rarely since. So its history.

The lounge/diner on my Houseboat started off that way. Ultra modern white corner sofa units looking out of the french windows. Full dining set for six. I hardly used it. More fun to be had topside.

So I changed it. I kept one corner unit sofa, but the rest of the space is my studio.
