  1. I forgot to mention. Chest wise it is yet to be seen whether boys will need a modesty layer as well. I only mention that because pretty much all child avatars are built around the much smaller female body. The way kid avatars my age (9) differentiate themselves is throguh things like names, clothing, shapes, hair and makeup etc. So in reality it would be very hard to have 1 type of modesty layers for boys and another for girls on the same avatar.
  2. Well I can't exactly show you.... but literally as a boy you would see nothing on the front, just completely flat with no texture any different to the rest of the skin. If I was nude (I never have been nor will I ever) you'd see my bottom. So the major difference between the current skins for kids is now there will be underpants covering the rear. On the front all you're doing is replacing a peach (insert any other skin tone) colour for a white/black/blue/red whatever underwear texture.
  3. Indeed, and I wouldn't say it has been 200 pages of whining. The majority of it has been sensible and civil discussion. Maybe people just keep trying to get a reaction out of us, but it's not worked?
  4. Madi and I aren't talking about bits. We're talking about kids skins that apart from not having a modesty layer don't actully show anthing and already resemble barbie dolls. The only difference between the skins will be the modesty layer. I agree with you about genitalia not being on kid's clothing.
  5. In Madi's case that isn't an option as the person who created the skins for her avatar is no longer in SL. Her body will never be updated either.
  6. Without looking through my purchasing history I won't know for sure but I estimate I'm going to lose between L$5000-L$6000 in skins if the modesty layers can't be implemented in such a way that old ones are useable while being complaint with the new rules. One skin was a super rare gacha (when they were a thing) and cost me L$1800 alone.
  7. I wouldn't say punished but it also doesn't sit entirely right either. Luna Bliss and I discussed this much earlier in the thread.
  8. I'm not sure keeping illegal skins without modesty layers is a good idea.
  9. Indeed, and then there is the optics, how it will effect the financials and of course any legal ramifications. There's a reason company's like to reserve so many rights for themselves, because as soon as you make a decision in one direction you're essentially closing off one in another. In a way I hope they do this properly because after all this is said and done I'm probably going to have to fork out a load of lindens on new content and have to throw away a load of old content. I don't want to be revisiting this issue 6 months down the line because LL messed it up.
  10. Shawty's ... I like it. It could be a pirate themed club and we could all go round doing nice things because y'know .... irony....
  11. I like the fact we have been able to discuss a lot of different scenarios that LL may not have thought of which they can now think about and come up with solutions for so that there is much needed clarity.
  12. Let's get real here, there were kid avis who were bad actors in all this. As I've said before, people who play with genuine kid avatars hate those type of kid avatars more than anyone else. I gurantee that.
  13. But seriously if you do try it, get yourself a camera hud to change your camera to head height. If you think adults look tall now wait until you see them from a kid's perspective.
  14. Do it for a week, things you don't even think of as things now will become things. It might be eye opening for you to see how people treat child avatars in SL.
  15. I would help you, you might be surprised at how hard things can be.
  16. here - https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Linden_Lab_Official:Clarification_of_policy_disallowing_ageplay
  17. It's called an avatar for a reason. Look up what the word means
  18. How comfortable would you be playing a child avatar? Or someone of the opposite sex, or orientation? Or being a furry or a vampire or werewolf, etc.
  19. I think it's only fair we have 1 zone for kids, 1 for adults and 1 for both where everyone kind of meets in the middle and works together. G land for stuff you would only be comfortable doing in front of a class of elementary school kids. A land for your wildest dreams, anything goes. M land where you can do adult stuff in private but where in public it's pretty much like G land.
  20. LL do not want child avatars anywhere near nudity. They don't want those images. I fear it is very much going to be that we're second class citizens.
  21. Rules as written child avatars are not allowed near nudity. So even on G land where nudity is not allowed, if an adult was nude I'd have to leave. Now whether that's what LL intends or what people think is fair is another matter. That scenario about bible study with Woody and Johnny was mentioned awihle back.
  22. I'm glad LL are going to be addressing the modesty layer issue soon and will be giving out guidance. I'd be very much shocked if it isn't just a blanket approach of all kids must wear a modesty layer around their waist and chest which for boys like me would seem excessive but then I don't know how you police it. My avatar, Tweenster, for example, is based on the female body and resembles a barbie doll i.e. there is nothing there below the waist., whether you're a boy or girl or not depends on how developed you are in the chest area and then your shape / hair / makeupe etc.
  23. It will, but it won't stop you suddenly being on an A rated sim if you were on a G or M sim and the rating changed while you were there.
