  1. Your Xcite! should work wtih any body, mesh, or standard. However, I have noticed that more pale/ghostly tones are almost impossible to blend into Xcite! products. So, pick a body that has a skin tone that is not extremely pale. I beleive Xcite! poducts are mod so you can always manually change the skin colour if needed. To move it into place, just right click the attachment, click edit, and use the arrows to move the attachment exactly where you need it.
  2. I would try changing viewers to something like Firestorm or Singularity. SL looks really odd with the basic shaders off so I would try this first, if it doesn't work then try turning off basic shaders like the above poster suggested.
  3. You can try moving them since I don't think they're rigged but I don't think there's much you can do about that.
  4. Sounds like a connection issue as the others have suggested, but if your avatar remains a cloud, you can try avatar > avatar health> reset default avatar (character test)
  5. I own all the popular male mesh bodies besides the TMP but I have good knowledge of how the TMP works through a friend. My personal favorite is the Enzo Aesthetic by Niramyth, for it's reliability, level of detail, and ease of use. However this avi is quite large and I can see it not being for everyone. It's currently 2,799L on Marketplace right now and has a demo in-world. This avatar includes the head but you can decide if you want to wear it or not. Can only wear clothes designed for it. https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/NIRAMYTH-AESTHETIC-ENZO-PACKAGE-10/7037603 For Enzo (light skinned) https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/NIRAMYTH-AESTHETIC-SMITH-PACKAGE-10/7037604 Smith (Dark skinned) There's the Adam by Absolut Creations, which I did like for the shape and muscle stucture but found it to be a pain to use at times. This avatar includes hands and feet. There are a few hand gestures as well. The HUD is easy to use but I find the body is stil a little buggy and the skin tones are hard to match. There's also a lack of appliers available. Fits most mesh clothes. The price is 2,950L. https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/Adam-Mesh-body/8230495 Also has a beta head available for 850L: https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/Adam-Mesh-Head-beta1/8398167 There's the Tailsman by Tellaq, which is the next line of mesh avatars by Tellaq. It includes a head which you can use if you want or replace with something else. This avatar is very large and I feel is even larger than the Aesthetic. It's quite limiting as there's only presets for hair or beard available for the head. No tattoos available besides the one included to my knowledge. No appliers available. The alpha HUD is also a nightmare. It costs 2,300L. It can fit most clothes if the shape is very small. https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/TALISMAN-MESH-AVATAR-BY-TELLAQ/8445404 (light skinned) https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/ABRAHAM-MESH-AVATAR-BY-TELLAQ/8730137 (dark skinned) TMP is also a good best. It includes a lot of skin tones and there are a good number of appliers available. It includes 10 hand gestures for each hand. I do really enjoy the shape of the TMP. It's quite reliable. Fits most mesh clothes. Problem is the cost at 5.000L just to get the alpha HUD. The Gianni by Signature is quickly becoming a favorite as it's quite similar to the TMP. It comes with hands and feet. It's easy to use and the HUD really did think of everything. Fits many mesh clothes. There are a number of appliers for it but many builders aren't making specific stuff for this avatar. There's also a version where the head is included that is the same price as the Gianni. You can find these at Signature's in-world store. Slink is very reliable as well. I feel it's the easiest mesh body to use other than the Aesthetic. Can fit in just about anything. There's a lot of appliers for it. The hands and feet are not included unlike any other mesh body to my knowledge. It looks quite good but I feel it only really portrays an average-joe look to it. But if that's what you're going then Slink is your best bet. As for mesh heads, if you decide to get an avatar that doesn't have the head, I would go with either Samurai or Catwa. Catwa is quite expensive though at around 3,000L. There's also No! Project heads which are quite cheap at just under 2,000L. They take a long time to load, though and might not be a good look for you if you seek an older more mature avatar. Not many appliers for No! Project heads either. The in-world store can be found at: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Frittella/95/228/769 I hope all this helps you decide which one best suits your husband.
  6. I would start by contacting the seller and seeing if they can fix the item. Give them some time to respond. If they never get around to fixing it, and you bought it on Marketplace, you can flag the item on the Marketplace page just under the Facebook like button on the right-hand-side of the page. If you bought it in-world then I'm not sure if you can really do anything about it.
  7. I do not think you can report an entire store. But you can flag items within the store. Just go to the item's Marketplace page, look at the right-hand side, and just under the Facebook like button should be a ltitle red flag and next to it should say "flag this item." Also you may want to file an abuse report by logging onto SL, then under the "help" tab, you can select "file abuse claim" or whatever it's called. Not entirely sure as i'm not looking directly at it.
  8. Well, the picture you showed above looked like rigged mesh, but if you can't move things like a box that really is strange. Do you drag the arrow or use the small up or down arrows next to the X, Y, or Z under Position (Meters) in build mode? Did you try relogging?
  9. So each time you put on your clothes, your limbs disappear? And you are using a mesh avatar? Have you tried going to avatar > avatar health > reset avatar (character test)? Yes I understand your frustration about not wanting to remove the mesh but think of it as almost resettng a computer to fix many problems. We need a little more information to help you, though.
  10. Yes it is quite furstrating as I have fun into the same problem. You can buy Lindens through a credit card, Paypal, or Skrill. To my knowledge you can add a prepaid card to Paypal in order to pay for things, but I could be wrong.
  11. I guess it is possible that you are dealing with a griefer, though it is tough to say with your description. To my knowledge no one can just take up your items. They can however send them back to you if they land owner. As for locking your items, I suppose this one is possible as I did have a griefer turn my items phantom, however the effect wore off once the griefer was dealt with. I do know there is a viewer or HUD or somethng that allows someone to see information about your viewer, but I don't know much about it beyond that. If you are unable to enter the house, especially when the person you expect is causing it, is on the sim, then it is possible that yes he/she is griefing you. If you truly suspect that this person is a griefer, you should contact the owner with all this information and see what they say. You may also want to report them to Linden Labs and see how they feel about it.
  12. Building materials for prims can be found at the top of the viewer, under Build, at least in Firestorm Viewer, I am not very familiar with SLViewer but I think it's the same. Just go to Build > Build or Ctrl+B. If the build button is greyed out, then you are in an area where you cannot rez. To solve this, go to a sandbox. As for textures for your builds, you can either create your own textures using a software like Photoshop or Gimp, or you may buy them from Marketplace. If you choose to make your own textures, you can upload them by going to Build > Upload > Image (L$10) or by using Ctrl+U. To add a texture to a prim, you can drag the image from your inventory onto the prim in whcih you have created, or you can right click the prim and click edit, click texture, then click on the texture box and select the image from there. It is better to drag the image to the prim as this will put the texture on one face of the prim you have created. If you wish to create mesh instead of prim, you must use a software such as Blender, Zbrush, or Maya. You can find tutorals on how to use these programs on YouTube. I am not sure why your clothes are appearing invisible. I hope you have resolved this problem. Good luck out there and welcome to Second Life.
  13. I suggest taking off every single attachment. Just right click on your outift in your appearance and click "take off - remove from current outfit." and relog if it never loads correctly. If this fails, I would go under avatar > avatar health > reset default avatar (character test). With the splochy skin, I would check settings and see if you have hardware skimming under avatar rending in graphics checked. SL just had major maintenance work so that might have something to do with anything with your problems. I hope this helps you.
  14. I have not see any furry appliers for the Aesthetic. However you can try the Wolfkin, or the Coal whch are anthropomorphic and also made by Niramyth. Niramyth just released their skin UVs to creators a few months back so expect to start seeing new appliers for the Aesthetic but there's no telling how long it'll be before you find a furry applier for the Aesthetic.
  15. I have the Slink Physique Male Mesh Body, and I find it's compataible with everytihng except tank tops, thought I did find some TMP tank tops from Apple May Designs. I suggest just looking for fitted mesh clothing. Fitted mesh seems to work best with the Slink mesh body.
  16. No such avatar exists on MP and I cannot imagine that it exists in-world. It is a violation of SL TOS and of copyright law to create an avatar resembling Claptrap from Borderlands. You can possibily ask a creator through a PM if they would make you something like that, but do not be surprised if they decline. Copyright infringement can get you banned from SL.
  17. What viewer are you using? Are you using SLViewer? It could be a problem with the computer, but for now let's focus on something more obvious like the viewer. There are several other viewers that you can use. You can try Firestorm and Singuarlity which are the biggest two Windows based third party viewers. I would start there first. If these two do not work you can try Black Dragon, UKanDo, Kokua, and Catznip. I will warn you though, I have not tried anything other than Firestorm, Singularity, and SLViewer, so you may want to do some research on these viewers to determine which one works best for you. I hope one of these work for you.
  18. I would suggest going to places where there are lots of people around. Try going to clubs like Rez and Amborsia. Or joining a roleplaying sim like Crack Den. There's also places like the Safe Hub. Just talk in local and join in the conversations with others. Also having a big profile makes people want to talk to you more and get to know you better, at least in my experience. Good luck out there!
  19. The biggest dance animation stores on SL are Vista, Akeyo, Henmations, Abranmations, TIS (There is Spirit), and A&M Mocap Danceworks. I think that's all the ones I've been to. I hope you find what you're looking for.
