  1. Interesting reading.  I was honestly of the opinion that a new body needed a fat ass, and huge boobs.  But recent event have proved that's not right.  I am having great fun finding clothes for Maitreya's LaraX Petite.  Maybe there is room for more human-scale bodies, like Lucybody Vania.  The key is clothing.

  2. Whilst I am still wearing Lara Petite, as well as LaraX Petite,  I am not buying any more non-X clothes.  That isn't to say I am throwing all the nice stuff I've collected, or any new gifts, just not shelling out.  The really good thing to come out of all this is that even Lara Petite is a body in it's own right, and I don't have to fear something 'stealing' the 'chest' mount point (and making those huge boobs show).

Tiffany Designs have updated some outfits for Lara X and/or released new ones with that size. There are 2 vendors outside the store (on the left as you land) with the Lara X sizes (also some shoes) and the same 2 vendors in the lobby, on the right side. If you already own some outfits from these vendors and you don't have the Lara X size yet, get a free redelivery (there's a board on the desk in the lobby). That's what I did with the Kai long dress for instance. Most of the shoes shown will nevertheless fit as they're stillettos or under the knees but there are also the Mey high boots, which fit perfectly on Lara X (at least with my shape - so demo, demo, demo).

AND Tiffany currently have a 300L gift card for everyone (no group needed) to be used before February 1st, 2024.

There is also a Groupie 500L gift card (400L to join), but it needs using by midnight today!!!!

You can call the store by name: Meva.

Meva is very good.  And new stuff seems to be LaraX too.  Mea (the creator) is very nice to talk to.

I think you don't have to buy a thing that doesn't suit you. And while not buying, at the same time you could have chosen to be kind instead of condescending.

Could be.  I tend to be a 'shoot from the hip' kinda gal.  Sorry.

  6. So you all think I should buy things to help the poor creators, even if I have no use for them (for bodies I don't want to own)?  Or if they contain technology, like V4 autohide, that actually makes the item unusable?  Or perhaps because they have a history of leaving their customers in the lurch, like a certain body creator?

    Not gonna happen.

If you want me to buy it (that is spend my SL allowance on it) then it has to suit me.  And that is all I said.

  7. I will not buy anything but LaraX Petite rigged clothes from now on.  I've operated a 'no Lara Petite, no sale' policy for a year now, and it worked well.  With a lot of older clothes that are rigged for Lara Petite fitting after a bit of alpha-ing, I already have a huge LXP wardrobe (in my CTS Wardrobe, of course).

For my alt, it's LaraX or nothing.

My other major policy shift is that I now check the demo for what version of built-in Maitreya Autohide script it has.  V4 is a no-no, and that rules out Blueberry - and I was buying the megapacks without much thought before.  The CSR tells me that I can remove it, but then I have to have 456780000 versions for all the different colour combos - not gonna happen.  Of course, no demo, no sale...

I encourage you to get tough with the Creators too, they want our money, they have to suit US.

I have to say, this is the most entertaining thread I’ve seen on these forums in a looong time.

I'm especially fond of seeing how inventive the funny names for bodies a certain contributor doesn't like can be.

  9. I think there is also the 'political' reason for sticking with Onyx and Maitreya.  They have been super loyal to their customers through the years, and that cannot be said of certain other popular body makers.  Many of the clothes makers will give us free updates to LaraX over time, and many will want to sell more new clothes.  I know which ones I am going with.

Because the Clueless Captain Oldbies spent over a decade talking down to anybody who had the last name "Resident", sneering at anyone who used a display name with comments such as "I've never used a display name, I don't NEED to, *I* have a REAL name", and demanding that "Real Names" be brought back, so they could spam throwaway alts on "Funny Punny Names", that would log in once for a laugh, then vanish into the pool of 60+ million inactive accounts.

Odds are if LL introduced "Oldbie" as a name option, some clown would make "Captain Oldbie" just to try and troll the forum, for the "lolz".

or....   LL saw a way to charge a VAST amount of REAL DOLLARS for changing a database entry...  and we Clueless Captain Oldbies encouraged them, because we have Real Dollars to burn on such frivolities.

Only the newer version of this script has that /95 functionality as far as I know, the old one was configured differently.

and when we say 'new', this V5 script has been out for years, but many of the Big Name (like Blueberry, for instance) clothing designers still use the V4 script (and make it no-mod, of course).  So for them the only recourse is to use the 'Show all' button in the Lara(X) hud - Alpha page to reset after putting the item on, before doing your own cut settings.

I am now boycotting all V4 script users, unless they let me delete the script.  That includes Blueberry sadly.

  12. Well I started off negative about this.  I still think the marketing is atrocious, but....

There is a full-body Lara Petite (not X) hidden in there, and that means my boobs won't pop out if I accidentally remove the add-on while getting ready for (bed).

Now I got something out of this too.

  13. Well, I woke up to this!  Got my LaraX Petite, and I am totally underwhelmed.  I do not want a GenX THICK butt.  If I wanted a thick butt I'd have bought Slink Cinnamon.  The sad thing is all the designers who are saying that they will be only working on Twitter (formerly known as LaraX) from now on.  Sheesh.  Maybe it's time to make a male avi and go to Nille's.

From what I've read, it fits most Maitreya clothing. Definitely try demos first but look in that direction. IIRC, it doesn't come with an alphas HUD, so you'll want to also buy a good pack of alpha layers since some Maitreya clothing doesn't come with alphas.

The other Lucybody bodies are mostly BoM only, no HUD, but the Atenea has an alpha-cut HUD.  I don't like Atenea much, it scores too high on complexity, but the other Lucybodies are excellent for specific uses due to their low complexity.  I like Lucybody Vania as a low-weight Lara Petite - one good thing about it is that chest does not respond to the shape sliders, so you can use them to fix the fitting of clothes.

The other thing to say is that the creator,  @Ongoe Allen, is very accessible on Discord, and responds to questions well.

You can take your money out by using the Sell Lindens function on the website.

If you really want to give it away though, Ii could really use to pay for my own account. 🙂

Have you seen the thing they want you to sign before you can take money out at their ruinous exchange rate?  Not worth it for under US$10...

@Prokofy Nevahas the best answer.  IMO.
