I just looked up what is included in a Julbord and it makes me wish two things:
1) I lived in Sweden
2) I actually liked meat of any kind (though I would be all over the fish courses, every single one of them).
The julbord is the epitome of the Swedish tradition of a 'Smörgåsbord', containing all the usual things (i.e. meatballs, pickled herrings, potatoes, smoked and/or graved salmon, etc), and with some Yule-specific items such as ham, Jansson's Frestelse (a potato casserole with anchovies), prinskorv ('prince sausage', a small, slightly soured sausage), beet salad, stewed cabbages (yes, different kinds!), Brussels sprouts, ribs, brawn, rice puddings ... Traditionally, you're supposed to take seven rounds:
- Pickled herrings (different kinds, at least 3!) and other herring dishes (various dips/sauces, usually)
- Salmon round, fish pates, and occasionally other fish dishes (smoked flounder, for example - regional differences!)
- Cold cuts, primarily the ham but often accompanied by smoked reindeer heart, tongue, sausages (cold ones), pig trotters, etc. This is also where you get a big serving of beet salad.
- 'the little warm' round: meatballs, the Jansson's, prinskorv, ribs.
- Cheeses (one of my favourite rounds!). Again, a minimum of three kinds, but at a fancy julbord you can expect 7-12. Also, crackers and jams.
- Dessert. Usually a rice pudding with orange slices or berries.
- Candy. Mozartkugeln, knäck (butterscotch candies), polkagris (peppermint flavoured candy sticks/bits), ice chocolate, saffron fudge, gingerbread cookies, etc.
And yes, that's all in one sitting - and don't forget the drinks! Dark beers, julmust (a malt soft drink), mead, mumma (a mixture of blond and dark beer, sweetened and spiced with cardamom), and, of course, schnapps (at least one schnapps for each of the first three rounds).

Turkey is nice, but ... You haven't properly observed Yule 'till you've had a Swedish julbord.

@Orwar I thought you said this was the manliest man.
He's a close second.

Oh, that settles it. Manliest man ever alive (requiscat in pace) - Franzl Lang!

... No idea why music by Richard O'Brien keeps popping up, he's so not a manly-man - but a great man, regardless!

@VictoriaGrwd that picture makes me think of spring ... I don't like spring, it means an end to the coldness and the darkness of winter. Pouts. But it is a pretty shot, all the same.

I didn't pick the Maitreya for Neph because it was the 'prettiest' body. But because when I went shopping with Orwar, all I ever saw on the events were women's clothes, much of which was Maitreya exclusive. Were I rich (or had a generous sugar mommy) I would probably want a Belleza or Slink body (haven't had a suuper close look at either, since I bought head and body on day 1, knowing which brand I wanted and having an idea what she should look like).

You're probably best off going to the in-world stores. And instead of using the MP search engine, or the in-world search engine, it's better to open your map (Ctrl + M) and type in the brand there. If you search for 'Maitreya' for example, you'll immediately get listings from most stores who make clothes for Maitreya - if you search on the map, you'll have 2 options, 1 abandoned land and 1 Maitreya Island (which is their main store).

How long, I wonder, does it take to map the UV from system version to Lara version? Because turning anything into BOM is just a checkbox in the Edit Tools, so that's the only thing I can think of that's taking so long. LOL
I don't know, and that's what has me curious what else they might do for the update. If it was just that, then that could be done in an afternoon whilst sipping tea. I kind of hope they're upping the poly count to make it more akin to Genus heads and the Legacy body in smoothness, but that's probably hoping for too much. *sighs*

They will not update the Lara, they've already done the work, which has paid for itself thousands of times over, so why not just sit back and let the money roll-in?
Except they've told us that they're working on a BoM update for Lara. Not sure when the ETA is though.

I thought Orwar was suggesting an exotic kind of dance in a g-string.
That costs extra.

@Orwar would you compete in this?
Uh, I haven't kept up. Maybe. I don't have to dance or anything, do I?

You should turn VictoriaGrwd. She's got plenty of sparkle for all of you.
Well.. Hm. Maybe? She certainly shares our family-wide obsession with phot-- (and this is where I get the 'Catrie has replied to the thread' notification). As I were saying.
Vampire-bunny, @VictoriaGrwd? Yes, no, maybe? Flashes a fanged grin.

Neph in a swimsuit with the textures loaded locally. I could have moved her, you know. 😁

I once got chatting with a famous person without realising who they were.
I got a friend request from a person I didn't recognize a few years back on Facebook. I thought the name rang a bell, but I couldn't place it, so I did a quick Google search and found that it was the singer from one of my absolute favorite bands at the time (not very big, t'was in the Steampunk scene). We've since gotten quite good friends, and he sometimes gives me preview samples of what he's working on.

You're paying L$3,300 per week for a 3-bedroom 1-bath? That better come with a view over the town park and a doorman, at least.
It's also pretty much standard to know how many prims you're getting for the money you pay, rather than 'you can share my leftovers with the other tenants'.
