The value you receive from SL in land, communities, or whatever you flavor of fun might be, means entertainment. Thus you might budget $50 bucks a month to go to movies or have a beer with buddies, etc.. SL should have a budget too, if you want to get by on the cheap, no land costs, free clothing, free AVI, you can. Its your choice, if your SL fantasy is hot looking AVI and clothing, and awesome living place to feel good when you invite friends over, that has a price tag. The real world has a cost, meaning the SL grid is all servers, someone paying to rent them and keep SL going, they are not government subsidised, no redistribution or so called "fairness" it s plain numbers.. Technology costs.......

Needed a photographer for with knowledge/skills to take snapshots of party guests costumes for costume contest. NO photo editing required just take the required number of shots per guest, plus work with hostess and other staff to assist with party. Photobooth with poses will be provided. (Must use my on site booth, can use your own poses) A quick audition of your abilities will be necessary, to assure you have the skills & knowledge for this job. Pay is relative to the pay for DJ & Hostess. Pay will be (the LL photo upload fee, plus agreed hourly). Thank you for the suggestions.. Both the hud and the box scripting is too complicated for me, I have so much to do with so little time left. I would be happy to contract a proficient scripter that can do BOTH the box limiter and the HUD, as I think both are necessary. I have looked on MP for something ready made and doing a general Sl search for any environment huds that are modifiable with the necessary components. Only one in MP that only plays random sounds though. I know is short notice party is Sunday. Regarding any payment, I know I can't pay the real value, I am paying DJ, Hostess, Photographer, and the pay would be scaled to relative terms, but all is negotiable. Will also post a add in the help wanted.

Hi, before I ask question, I just really appreciate the help offered by this forum. I'm putting together a halloween house for halloween party that is a few days from now, not a lot of time to search. Sounds add so much atmospher, and can't imagine doing a fun project without them. Opening creaky doors, screams, howling, wind, thunder, etc. The problem is I don't know how to limit the range of sound , the house takes up half the property with multiple rooms each with a little different scary theme, I would like 1 to 2 specific sounds for individual room themes, but DO not want them heard in the adjacent room or all over the property. The last party we had a month ago, had over 30 people so 30 people going through doors that trigger sound or as one goest past an object that trigger sounds.. it can be so overwhelming and ruin the experinece 1.Is there a way to limit the sound to a specific space 2. Is there a way to have the sound only play to the person triggering it OH also is there such a thing as a pre-cache so that when guests land at Landing point it loads their cache with the sounds and a large portion of the textures so they have sounds and textures already in their cache before going through the spaces?

Someone with the talent to implement my concept, the work is mostly photoshop. each side is 64x64 ceiling same. Time constraints fast response and work done.. Fee negotiable NOTE: this is for a temporary structure creating atmosphere.. this is basic photoshop work, easy for anyone with the necessary skills.. I am paying for the services of DJ, thus fees for this work should be relative not way out of line.

before I own land I rented skybox that had independant radio. it doesn't work on the sound stream. can't rem how it worked, I never actually used it, was in bunch of extras the landlord provided. I gave the skybox with my house to friend she used it, said it worked. I think ea person has to load hud to here the stream. see reply by koltari

I set up a skybox for friend, and would like that person to be able to have access to radio system without changing my land sound stream. I can't seem to find these type of radios on MP. also a video-web-steamer too. if you are reluctant to give actual product name or vendor suggestions please IM here or in world thank you

they are not just at bottom of water areas.. I have found several in skyboxes. one had over 30 with all very similiar names, and creation dates in groups only each a day apart. the region was owned by one with similiar name. had a few stores on land level.

Hi, I want to send halloween party invite that will have the Picture invite, then it has script inside to give notecard and LM, but also would like to have a Gesture that plays and fills up the screen plus gesture has scary sound. Can I set the gesture to trigger off the touch of the giver script?

OK I was wrong the greeter only sends to local.. However at our last party only 2 weeks ago, I used some product, maybe our contest board, that was sending me IMs as people joined ... Will have to drag out all the activities we had then to find out which it was.. lol

I have a greeter for our parties that gives gifts and activity cards.. It sends me an IM every time someone arrives... how is that object then sending me a IM? edit, am checking now to make sure it is an IM.. smiles

ok this noob needs a script or a product, that will allow me to send out party invites & inventory objects (notecard, object, pic, texture) to a list, PLUS the ability to sent a PERSONAL IM, not a locat chat message. I have tried one popular product from MP has cute red round mailbox, it works great. BUT they say sends IMs it doesn't it sends local chat message, which are typically ignored. Somewhere I read that maybe objects can't send IMs only local chat messages. But I get IMs from SL business all the time, and I get IMs from some products like greeters I use for my parties, so I know the ability is there. HELP please! NOTE: I am not using this for business, or spam.. we like to have parties with our friends.. and our list is getting long, last party had 66 invites.. and hard to send IM + invitation object *card, to that many.. I am not going to create a group, because that means new people will require a 2nd list who are NOT on the group.

Hi, My porperty has some flying birds with sounds, and running water, with sounds, some other animations running. I am about to have a party and expect 10-30 Avatars, and know the lag will increase significantly.. I am wondering if there is a script I can insert into each of the scripted items running on my parcel and I can use a hud or menu to select what I want to turn off. I understand there may be a distance issue, so I could divide the menu into quadrants then physically fly to each and turn off selected scripts. Also, is there a decent lag meter that can measure for a parcel how lag is on that parcel or as a ratio compared to the sim?

Found a DJ, after suggestions from friends, this forum, and other DJs sending people, the only one that worked out , was my GF and I hitting the clubs at the hours of our party and seeing who we liked best and finding out if they were available. So it was audition as we listened to them during their gig shift. Next time we will know this and do it several weeks in advance.. I think we will be very happy with our choice he spent time with us, his DJ shift was fun and good music, and was helpful planning our party..
