I need to make a notecard invitation, I have the image in photoshop and adding text to it. What is the largest size image, height & width I can put in note card? How do I upload pic to inventory and add to notecard? Yes I am noob..

I recently bought land, and erected a prefab. I deeded the property to my group ( which includes myself and special friend who is co-owner of group), thus we are co-owner of land. I keep having issues with security, music, lamp on/of in the home panel supplied with the house. In that panel it said if group owned, then I had to use a relay orb.. With the home panel and orb set to group and "share". I did that and lights on/off worked. I have worked on prefab house un linking sections to remove walls and stuff. Now the home panel is not working.. I bought a juke box, it worked fine the first day, again set to group share, both special friend and I could change channels.. Today it will not bring up menu. This is all very frustrating. I feel like I take one step forward and 4 back. What am I doing wrong...? my viewer is Firestorm... This is on a private own region / island.

I am west coaster,,, I am a night owl, so on after 9pm till wee hours, being self employed, so I can sleep in . I am attached. In passing a few days ago, someone mentioned there is such a thing as a find Avatar hud? A friend I asked confirmed that she had such a hud to discover if her BF was playing around and not showing status when actually on SL. However she decided she didn't really want to know, so deleted the hud a long time ago. Is there such a hud? Can people know your location, if you have not given them permission? How can I find someone who has status turned off? Another friend , said that she saw me online, when I turned off her status by looking at the map. Is that possible? I also hear from long time SL people, that it is offense to them if a friend turns off their online status, that is a serious breech of SL etiquette. Personally I don't agree, I have several friends that when I am with them, (non romantic), I don't want to be disturbed and want to focus my attention on them and what is being discussed, learned or whatever. In fact a long time SL person got so upset, it influenced them in an important business decision, which really had nothing to do with only line status. In fact, if I choose to only allow a few close friends to know my online status, the proper ettiquette in RL is, that is my business and if I decide to include you or not include you in that list, so be it.

Recently as a birthday gift for a international friend, I sent them some $lindens, to buy a RL gift for themselves. The cost to buy and go through the Market to sell back the $lindens was about 7%, I am not sure if there are other fees associated yet on the recepriant's side, as the money has not yet hit their paypal account. I feel the fee, isn't bad, compared to doing western union or some other money transfer service, which would include both a service fee and money exchange fee. My question, is there any service in SL other than Lmarket where one can cash or anyone can cash $L for a smaller percentage fee.

Can some post some of the items they are decorating with for halloween, I have been to several places, bought some stuff, but always interested in what others are doing. These are the things I got so far.. I have not been successful finding a man's costume that I would like. I did find a Pirates of Caribbean skin that would look cool but looks so dangerous/evil, maybe not fun enough for a party. So please post your decorations... I finally checked out the TIS dance machine, they have a private owner version, that only supports 10 couples and is only $1000L. Great that is perfect for us, our party will hopefully need more, and I intend to have that available. But for my sweetie , and my use and when we have a few friends over, this TIS private party one sounds perfect and price is good. BUT But where are the couples dances, TIS gives one with the machine, ok so where are the couples packs, They have one 6 dance couple pack fo r$4000. Ok, so I need help finding couples dances, especially slow romantic dances, but also just fun dance, as well as some ballroom. I need help finding a good selection of couples dances for a reasonable price. While we go to clubs with good couples dances.. So far Frank's has been the best, and is our reference. I don't expect to find a Franks set of dances but something that has decent variety and maybe 2 selections of each. all help is greatly appreciated...

We are throwing a party soon, just got our first property/house, and we need couples dance balls or stands, etc. We would like to have at least two spots maybe three to dance on property. and in two of those will be more than one couple.. So we need a couple dance/ball set that supports like 10 or more couples. Also with wide array of dances. But we don't want to pay some of the prices we have see, $8000-15000 is a lot. Looked at: DMC's Couple Dance Ball Intan's Couples Dances DMC is in our price range about 3000-4000 but not a lot of dances.. and that HUGE heart... great for clubs but not a home residence... Hopefully someone can point us in right direction

Ever wondered what the online status is good for? It's showing your online status! When you're not logged in you're not online. Makes sense, no? What sinister plans do you have to fake your on/offline status? Some always look to the negative... I have learned in my short time, some get upset when you may be busy and either don't want to reply to an IM immediately or some hound you with IMs but you still value them as friend so you keep them on your list. Either way what does it matter why? The question stands, it would be nice to have a way to toggle online status by person, group, externally before you log on. Haven't you wanted to get right to something, instead you log on and have to reply to 4 or 5 IMs from friends online..

Is there an app or website tool that allows a player to set his/her online status externally, without having to log into a SL viewer. Which could also tag who sees or who does not see online status. Any help appreciated

I am older too, and don't want to look like a 20something Italian Magazine male model, who is also taking steroids at Gold's Gym. I'm a real guy, not a pretty boy. I like this one.

I'm a newbie, so forgive my lack of knowledge and understanding. Is there a all-in-on hud for a variety of couples stuff.. Including: couples dances (which could have regular ballroom + other couples dancing including sexy, intimate, close embrace, etc. Also couples holding, cuddle, snuggle, etc animations (not just poses) there would be movement. Of course if someone wanted to add sex animations that could work too. In other words it would cover a wide range of couples stuff, without having to sit on animation balls, or touch something. It would work just like dance hud where the person wearing the couples hud sends invite to partner. This way anywhere the couple is, they can enjoy appropriate animations for their mood & location.

The gal that came into the sandbox, was there for at least 20-30 minutes, I stood next to her for about 8-10 minutes, so many different songs played. I didn't see any radio on her like I posted. The pic of the radio came from his store

Thanks helper, my dashboard, was NOT showing the friends in the lower left like you display for the past couple of days since I started using dashboard. So I relog in after reading your post, and "There is IS"! My Friends appearing online status in lower left. Thanks

Well I now see where I first saw friends online, it is in the community screen link. If you click on community, I have always gone direction to forums, so just clicking on Community will show friends online.

There is NO such link on the actual dashboard, there is "People", and then you can click "Friends", but the screen with Friends does NOT show if they are online (see 1st pic below). However after a bunch of searching via another search engine I found this link https://secondlife.com/my/account/friends.php? which shows which friends are online, to use the link you need to be logged into your dashboard (see 2nd pic below). Why is this so hard, the link to show friends should be present on dashboard and easy to find. My primary use for dashboard for checking if friends are online. I posted in another thread "PC / Game Performance Isn't time For?" the need for performance testing utility or built-in performance adjusters to help people with their viewer/pc setups for SL. I learned that the SL viewer does have such capability. This new thread is sort of related but specific to help a friend's SL setup. One of my new SL friends didn't want to post because English is her 2nd language and doesn't feel comfortable trying to relate in public forum in english. So I'm posting the question for her. NOTE: We are both noob / newbies of SL. She has noticed after a week in SL her in SL performance is getting slightly worse, 3 days ago in the early AM about 2-3 AM PDT, we both went to Freebie Galaxy, and both of our systems locked up, she was using SL viewer I was am using Firestorm. I rebooted system and since I didn't have "Home" set when relogging into SL I was starting again at Freebie Galaxy and it took 4-6 tries before I could transport out and everything was fine. I am relating my experience because hers was identical. The next day I went back to Freebie Galaxy and had no problems. Early AM 1-3 PDT today, my friend told me she went to Freebie Galaxy the same thing happened, when we both locked up. She tried 4 or 5 times and each time she teleported into Freebie Galaxy her viewer would lock up. She next tried Firestorm and no improvement. Here are her system specs: (1 year old PC) 64 bit.Intel core(TM) i3-2120 cpu 3.30 GHz 4,00 GB, she doesn't know if she has a dedicated video card ( I doubt it when you see her FPS below) doesn't know what kind of internet connection she has, she lives in a house in downtown Athens. We teleported to a spot that had some buildings but stood on a beach facing the water, no other people on this island. Using Ctrl Shft 1 her in SL FPS is 5.6 for comparison my FPS in same location is 15-20+ Her ping was in the low 200s, my ping in 90-110 Bandwidth, both of our bandwith was a low 1-6 kbps My system is a 2yr old i5 3.2ghz 8gb of ram, on a 15meg cable 100 miles from San Jose I have an 5 year old dedicated gaming video card (GeForce 7600GT 256MB 128-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16). it is 6:30 PM PDT, I can teleport right now to Freebie Galaxy and during the last 30 minutes have done it 3 or 4 times, I had no problems with the location & my display, it does load a little slower, my FPS drops from 18-20 to 10-12, the bandwidth goes up from 100-500kbps. I am guessing that bandwidth usage is based on load/demand so if there is a lot of people and graphics/stuff the bandwidth consumed goes up. Also this morning both of our bandwidth on the beach was extreme low 1-6kbps. Right now as I type bandwidth on the beach is 30-70kbps, at Freebie Galaxy it is 100-500kbps. So one possibility the the SL network at these early hour times is doing something that ties up bandwidth, compared to right now 6:45pm PDT the bandwidth is fluxuating with the load. She could benefit from a new dedicated GPU graphics card, however she is a unemployed college student so things are tight. Please recommend SL viewer settings and also if someone could recommend Firestorm settings (that would help me too). The help is appreciated much...

Hi, I'm a new noob, only a week old, so I know I don't have enough street cred to warrant a negative post, and I do hate being negative for my 1st post, but as the old saying goes, "scratch where it itches". So I am going to scratch. I do want to acknowledge that SL has so much to offer, and I am enjoying the sheer abundance of imagination and creativity in SL, much thanks to LL and all the those who design and put their designs to work in SL for all to enjoy. I used to play a lot of FPS games (first person shooters), both stand alone, multiplayer then later massive multi-player, the better modern games have a built in system analysis & performance check, which then sets up that player's game settings for optimum settings. So far I am not aware of such a system for SL. Isn't LL profitable enough to invest in making life a little easier for its customers by creating either an app or add on for the different viewers that would do a performance eval on the player's PC system then either change the preference settings in the viewer for the player or recommend changes for the SL viewers. The SL performance evaluator could take several routes, one would be a standalone performance test utility app running a series of tests, based on the machine results, recommended viewer performance settings would be presented to the person. Heck even a in SL test lab, where the player avatar walks through a room which has a specific test or a series related to a particular aspect, and either provides suggestions or actually makes the viewer preference changes, reboots the viewer and walk the avatar through that test again. I have a fairly fast PC, 3.2ghz I5 cpu, 8 gigs of ram, 7200rpm drive, on a 15 meg cable internet connection, however for the first two days I used my PC stock with onboard video running in the I5. While I could get around, there was movement lag, and slow materialization of the objects and textures. I put in an old dedicated video card that had 256meg of ram, thus the I5 didn't have to do double duty, and I got a small performance boost of about 15%. I am about to buy a new video card with 2gigs of ram. I have noticed sever lag the last 3 days compared to fairly smooth operation after the video card change, several people tell me to adjust the settings in preferences (I'm using Firestorm). Also I bought my first mesh clothing, and it doesn't seem to view correctly. I changed the cache to max and moved my broadband to 1000, and when I came back into the game after rebooting Firestorm, my avatar was an orange cloud, never rezing to its normal self. Note, right before the cloud, I was having trouble switching to a newly purchased avatar. First the old/new avatar appearance issues, then relogging and I am an orange cloud, never materializing that was scary, finally after a system reboot, 3 or 4 viewer reboots, and reloading my avatar to the setup I had before the new avatar skin twice, I was finally able to see my normal self. However my setup has lagged ever since. Slower display filling and looking like it should , also sporadic or jumpy movement, and typing in chat lagging. Ok done scratching…
