  1. I am very allergic to pollen but with this bunch of Lindens I'm just fine 💜

I think the only Linden missing on the rainbow 🌈 pic is Oberwolf 🐺? I squinted so long at this pic that the dude in the train next to me went from flirting with me to slowly slinking away from me 😂😂

My favourite Linden is also in here 🦒 💛 Also...I never knew we had an Elbow Linden 😂 💕

So imagine this...you PAY to go on a cruise, you expect a certain level of value, luxury, amenities, and destinations. By no means did you go the cheap route, spared no expense, and when you get to the port, you get an inflatable raft that you have to row yourself, and to eat, a hot dog and soda, with a compass to point you in the right direction to far away travel destinations. Guess we found your dream vacation, huh Solar? SSDD Bon voyage sucker! Keep shillin my boy! Here is some basic reality for you...I pay for this service, and expect the features to work properly and fulfill my needs. a friends list is a BASIC FUNCTION of ANY social online interaction, and if you can't agree with that, then who's the one not acknowledging basic reality?

Just a pro tip..when you act like a bag of clown noodles on a luxury cruise they will kick your ass no matter how much you paid. So you came here, disguising your one year cooked up rant as a question, and act now surprised that people offered help.

  3. For real if I had a problem for over a year, and obviously not many other people have the same problem I would have gone through soooo many things that I had tried on my end by now. Like new router, nee cables, checking my hardware, even emptying my cramped hard drive would something be that I had tried, LAN or WLAN Experiments and so on, emptying caches updating drivers, Cleaninstallation lol all the small things that lead maybe nowhere but I would have tried them. But the only thing you seemed to do was watching your very large friendlist and ignoring that you have some packet loss. You should find out where this comes from at first.

SL is a mess no doubt but packet loss as I said already should never happen and that would be the first thing I fix.

I would be very interested in seeing you TP into a random or busy sim with your stats up in SL showing 0.0% packet loss, a quick gyazo would be appreciated. I'll eat my words and admit defeat if you can show.

Its 3 am and I logged in only for you and TP to truth hair for you were its trample today, I even have graphics to max and draw distance at 128

I'm pretty sure achieving 0.0% packet loss even on a closed internal LAN is not possible, so achieving it on anything over the internet is certainly impossible. I'm also not sure being a gamer counts for nothing, since MANY games and systems in games also use UDP, but I was merely making that statement to say it wasn't a "me issue" when all other games, applications, programs, websites operate fine, and my connection is reliable. It's an SL/LL issue. I'm not trying to debate you here, just not really sure of your statements, or intent as it pertains to my post.

There should not even be a 0.01 packet loss. And as it seems you NEVER tried to fix things on your end. I have 0.0 packet loss. No issues at all with friends lists.

I any game having packet loss would lead to a myriad of wonderous problems, so it's not SL specific.

Start fixing your stuff because if there is packet loss it's you. But since you are a pro gamer you probably know how to ;)

And this online offline problem is not new to SL and with you mentioning some 100s friends maybe those lists are heavy.

It's like with my inventory, I have 360k inventory...people with a worse connection than mine (1gb) would have severe problems logging in at all XD I Know that this is a ME problem, and accept it.

The thing with the PBR when it's ready, it's said ALM will always be on with no way to turn it off.  At last I read, reflections would be able to be turned off but not ALM which I think could be a costly mistake for SL.  We will have to wait and see.

But, what I'm saying is if creators do go with PBR, creator costs will go way up and so we need a package (subscription) that will help our upload costs and it needs to be realistic, not silly nor with empty promises.  I don't want any mainland for one thing but help with uploads, sure.

Well in this case they already have it. Premium Plus. When the textures for PBR are 120L like you said...boom it's even more reason for LL to offer their P+ to creators XD they don't need to offer anything more than that, at least from LLs POV XD

And the AL ...I always go everywhere on ultra already with shadows and advanced lightening turned on, usually a draw distance of 128 sometimes more (in pretty forests or such). And I bet many do have AL on constantly by now, at least when I compare the material "whoopsies" that I encounter in world (like super shiny metal heads and buns) with the ones I encountered like 1 or 2 years ago. It's a really rare sighting by now.

But PBR will take a while, even with them forcing the AL on everyone. The grid will smell like baked potato then. I hope not too many people will be affected by that :( I'm all for progress and moving forward but I think I should decide if I want to turn such graphic options on or not...out of principle.

Did you watch the newest video from LL on PBR?  It's on the front page of the SL website for university something or other.  But, in this video (for his ugly table, not my taste, sorry) it costs 120 L just to upload for the textures of the ugly table.  PBR is going to be expensive.  They are going to need some kind of subscription that helps resident creators with upload costs.  And, in the video and I guess for the university thingamagig, it's about SUBSTANCE PAINTER which is $50 dollars a month.  Costs of SL items will go through the roof if they don't come up with a package to reduce costs for uploads plus help creators find a less expensive alternative to SUBSTANCE PAINTER.

I think things won't get more expensive the creators would just not use it. I remember how long it took for materials to be really widespread, one problem was of course that many people with older PCs are in SL and don't have AL turned on anyway. That changed through the years and since then more and more creator's used materials, and if we are honest not many creators are utilizing them really well by even now.

So I expect when this hits, some creators making mirrors, and some bloggers taking pics with mirror effects or water. I sadly really don't expect much at all to happen. But I will be happy if proven wrong :D

  8. I agree they are pretty ugly. I dislike them very hard XD my neighbors have some...but at the same time I fully agree with their right to decorate their land as they please, not as I please.

I try to get not angered too much in SL about it, in RL I would try talking to my neighbors but we have awesome ones luckily.

I know eventually it will be possible with a script, testing the AGENT_AUTOMATED bit returned by llGetAgentInfo() but that doesn't seem to work on current main grid simulators, and there's no easy way to test on aditi. (Note that the name of that constant is not "AGENT_SCRIPTED" which actually exists and means something much more common than "scripted agent".)

I somehow got the idea that the Lab had no plans to show this in the viewer, like in avatar profile windows or anywhere, but I don't know that's official policy, or even correct. (I generally apply a version of Hanlon's Razer to missing features: never attribute to malice that which can be explained by sloth.)

Basically the bots have more privacy than real residents then 😂

Honestly, how dare they give their employees time off work in general.

*stage whispers* I once heard that the Lindens don’t even need to sleep - they exist solely on air.

I agree employees need free time and fair pay. BUT a platform having a global userbase, should have implemented international service times long time ago. That's what work shifts are for and that's what's holiday extra pay compensations (don't know the English word for that sorry) are for XD

My husband's company works with >27 countries and they also have satellite offices in some of those countries, and yet my husband needs from time to time to work at unusual times.

That's how it goes. Last week he had several online meetings with colleagues from Bulgaria and Italy...those timezones ...it was usually at  17:00 their time and WAY past bed time for us here in Tokyo.

So at least one day a week they could offer international... like Europe friendly times at least IMHO

Oh and if I remember right there was some Euro Hotline at least back in 2007 or so don't know why they killed that.

As the title says... i really wonder where the Lindens are.
    Pulled back?

Didn't see any note or announcement they would leave the most important way to be in contact with their userbase ( next to inworld)

That's what I was asking and wondering too already.

Since the 20 year birthday celebration is coming up soon, I don't think they're on vacation. The Moles are certainly busy with that and with the 2048 m Linden Homes. I've seen a few green dots on Linden Home development regions (SSP4000 + and  LH DEV regions).

I think they're busy with something behind the scenes.

Possibly related or not, did you know there's an SSP Conspiracy III region?

    Mwaaa ha ha ha! 🤣

Omg 😂 also III indicates there's a I and II too XD much conspiracy x3

You're right, I think, that it's not exactly been a hot spot. A friend was there this afternoon, and it was all but empty.

The more I think about it, the odder it seems that the casino seems not to have even been designed for crowds. It can hold, what, 30 or 40 players, max, at a time? It's not really built to be crowded.

I think it's one of those copyable mole builds that get cloned when demand gets higher.

Also with the 64bit thing and other things now it starts to feel like they start to polish the 💩 aka pimping SL to make it look all shiny and better than ever for their 20th birthday, because maybe they plan to make the news 😂 like "ha we still there". And you can't have an old bot infested grid, with only humping sims (the depiction of SL often I have the feeling) to be all in metas face.

I am bracing myself for more "new" and "better" things to come tho.

The SL Social Casino isn't exactly setting attendance records since it opened.  Traffic today was about 3065.  By comparison, the Linden Realm Portals were about 7500 and 9300 (two identical Portal estates) or 16,800 total.  You can earn Lindens it those games.  Fogbound Blues traffic was 90,000.  All measured within a 5 min window.

Maybe they need some DJ's at the casino?

Nothing like a DJ yelling his fancy "WHOOOOO" gesture while you just lost 800 tokens in one go XD

My introvert princess bum would despise DJs there even more than the thing itself I'm afraid haha but that's a very personal thing, but music is really missing there.

Your post reminds me, there was a few years in the 1970's where every TV sitcom had an episode about quicksand. Supposedly, prior to that, "fear of quicksand" wasn't nearly as common. Thus, it entered our collective consciousness.

Not to muddy the waters.. when I first quickly scanned your post above, my eyes saw "branch" and my brain went to "code branches" (official viewers, 64-bit vs. 32-bit, TPV's all use some type of source code "branch" management).

I feel more like in one of those holodeck episodes of star Trek today tho 😂
