Personally falks, I love to see childish or amateur efforts, that makes me feel for this world that is more REAL and pleasant. A perfect, flawless environment look like sterilize by purpose and that make me feel bad. Truly, all of us started the same way as noobs, ins't? and we learned things during time (for some that trip is longer, like me LOL).

In most issues I agree with you, after all we both seen things from SL resident perspective, if you lived in SL for a few weeks then nothing is comparable tho As far I'm concern, IMVU it's not strange for me. I'm a premium member for long time but even if I paid there I haven’t login in for months. For me the worst are two things, first the "room" restriction to ten (as already you said) and the "pay to listen -music"! Some " radio/scripts are just for laughs! One of the best things in SL, it's the "parcel streaming option" that I loved for the first sec Iogged in as a noob. P.S. I don't say that I don't like IMVU at all, it has many good things (clothes are very precise and wonderful for example), why? The best thing (that SL hasn't) the official compiler/previewer tool it has for user creatiing items.

Things are much more clear if you're a paid info member! After all LL have your real personal info and is much easier for you to prove who you are.

Your dream (and mine too) isn't unrealistic (one Grid without boundaries). You talking about SL singularity (all Grid in one "single" server). That mean a truly powerful server (today) and not that powerful (tomorrow). I think, with the speed of technology runs, we can see this very soon, in a few years actually.

The best way for you to find a solution is straight ahead with LL and not through this forum. I think you make things much complicated when you give information about your account in the forum. Be cool and have petience.

Don't compare SL with IMVU. There isn't any point in that. SL is a free 3D world and the only barrier to this world is our imagination. IMVU it's a messenger with graphics!!! LL have many issues to resolve for a less buggy and less laggy enviroment and that need serious investement and technical management also. I think they doing the best to keep population and hardware in a balance. You can't get 150000 users in SL from one day to another, without concequences, if you don't have the backround to support such number.

I had the same problem back in 2008 and for a period of several weeks. Abuse report, parcel ban and mute resident and objects that making the attack, it's the recipe, till LL found what cause the problem and ban him and his object/script e.t.c.

That issue made when you use more than one viewer and you switch between them. When you login try to clear cache (Preferences -> Network) logout and don't use other viewer for a while. Then you can try any other option to load the test avi e.t.c. I suggest SL official viewer to fix it (then you can use others) hope I helped you a bit

If I give you an object with texture and I want you to have the option to edit the texture, I need to give you the texture itself with full permission rights! You can't touch textures that aren't belong to you from first place.

Try to make your image in exactly dimensions , this image should have to the store display page. To avoid the transformation procedure. there isn't a fomat issue here, just wrong dimensions of the prototype.

If you ..."hate" Windows...you have to face the concequences. Try to learn your operating system you use first of all! By the way Phoenix viewer (Firestorm lately) has many issues with all kind of OS including MS Windows. Google it your issue and search to other sites and forums. You might find a solution to any problem you have, if you make a good research.

I totally agree with you. Especially the advertising of this event it was the most poor, I ever saw all my years I live inWorld Personally I missed due RL obligations, but realy, I never knew when it was exactly....that's the truth. I always asked myself, why LL pretending that SL is growing itself (like a plant lmao). Without content creators, SL is a total zero (Phillip Roshdale mentioned a lot of times!). Many times I have considered to participate in such events, but as you said, all those restrictions causing to me headache and a strange feeling. I loved SL at first place for the freedom that offer to me, to build, to fun, to innovate and to do anything I want. Suddenly I see a 360 degrees turn to all of that and I see a world full of restrictions. 

"It doesn't count for anything anymore so why bother?" ???? aw! Traffic in some bussines still is critical. Traffic violators should faced more serious now than before. Residents are much less for many reasons and one of them is those frauds also. LL shoud give some respect to us content creators and store owners by investigating this issue all the time. Don't understimate it!

For been in a 3D World like SL you have to install a viewer (SL, Phoenix, Imprudence, Hippo). So you need the setup.exe of these viewers. You propably registered through your Internet browser that's why you confuse about it. If you still have problem to run the setup.exe (for example Second_Life_2-6-6-228244_BetaViewer_Setup.exe) try right click on it and run it as administrator. You shouldnt have problem with that tho Welcome to our wonderful world

I have to admit that I'm not an "everyday" blog reader and it's the first time I read almost all and I found so many interesting and very enlighten posts in a single thread, because some if not all of these issues are bothering me too, for a long time. First of all allow me to introduce myself in brief and excuse my poor english because I'm from EU and not a native american. I'm inWorld for about 4 years now, I have my stores in mainland, in this location are for 3 years now (from April 2008), and I'm a payment info resident for almost the same time (3 years). I never considered the Xstreet or MarketPlace or any other site, outside SL, as a proper way to ad or sale anything. I respect my work that I'm doing inWorld and making a site or going to another one, or do any activity outside SL it's false and in a wrong direction, period. I prefer to advertise my business inWorld with the tools and all those difficulties there are, but that's a way of life and an adoption of a culture, THE SL CULTURE. Something is in lack from LL recently tho. By the way, I have the ability and I made sites for other activities and for many clients, for several years in the past and I do advertise SL as a destination to my friends, associates and people I met. I think the new staff that LL hired recently, have a very wrong idea or a different if you prefer, for what's SL is all about and as a result they have wrong/different directions (I'm convinced about that now), mainly they never lived and socialized inWorld as we do in everyday basis (like some oldies Lindens did), so that disrespect to all of us ("inWorld content creators") and to our work it's not surprising me. They have to understand, their job must be something like consulting and helping, THEY MUST support the inWorld businesses with proper tools, THEY MUST make the inWorld search better and better every day, THEY MUST consider us (the residents) as somehow of partners and friends NOT IDIOTS, ENEMIES or SIMPLE CONSUMERS - CUSTOMERS and they must STOP doing inWorld "Le gendarme". A Web-based site for a main Market place it's WRONG, it's a shovel in their own hands first of all and the only thing they need to do is to dig with it and buried SL. A wonderful idea as a first step, (posted above) is a percentage and direct connected, ratio with land ownership and Marketplace ads. I'm not against the associated webpage’s with and in SL, like SL Events website for example, or like linked video walls that we use to get through videos from YouTube or url content for presentations e.t.c. But that's a different use and it doesn't driven residents outside of SL, but works as an addition to inWorld experience, that's something different, acceptable and nice. Second Life as the brand name says it's a alternate way of view things online, different lifestyle, it’s a web 3D platform and NOT another application to visit static WWW pages. If they want to go that way, and drop innovation path, they have to tell this openly to us, so we should "get off the bus" 1. The main conclusion from my point of view, on those published figures about SL, is that they are flat or disappointing. If you have a crowded group inWorld, besides sales, you've must already noticed reducing numbers through there, that's a fact also. That's something honestly hurts us as active and working members of this wonderful community and an attempt to make those beautified it's at least a disgrace. 2. SL it's a game? I agree with someone already wrote above, if someone things that RL it's a game then SL it's a game, my opinion it's that, SL has nothing to do with anything close to a game because there isn't any competition, goal or score to measure. You can educate, create, innovate, visit places, meet friends and family that they are far away, find support for any health problem you have (as such a person I have been in many precious, very helpful psychology support sessions for long time and I know from first hand), go shopping with friends like RL, socialize and have fun whatever you feel like. Can you do those things altogether in other way on the web? hell NO!!! 3. Pay-to-Play? My opinion that isn't an option for a 3d platform like SL. I'm also an EVE online player for over 2 years with several accounts (a monthly payment platform), but that's something totally different from my beloving SL. In-World I was not paid resident for over a year but I did rented space to build things, to start my first store and to have a private space for me and my friends. So as a self example (and I agree with someone already mentioned), there are ppl that they don’t like to pay direct in LL a monthly tier, but they have the ability to make extraordinary things and significant inWorld content as I did in the past without paying anything in LL. But if LL start demands a monthly payment I don't have any dought about what they could do, how simple is that. If you like SL just a little (I didn't say loving it like I do), please consider very serious the "only payment info residents" issue. 4. The V.2 Viewer? aw!!! This isn't an application made for users to live and create things in a 3D world that's why we don't like V.2. and I prefer and suggest to friends and groupies the SL1.23/Phoenix/Hippo/Imprudence but definitely not the SL V.2 viewer. I hope LL to read all those comments and ideas above and make a serious consideration of what have to be the path in the future for our wonderful World. The competition is out there, it's attractive and growing fast. Different? simple or complicate? less or more sophisticate? that’s doesn’t matter.
