  1. "How about yous meet my buddie Potato Pete and we made some sweet soup togetha, baby?"
  2. I'm as baffled as you are on this one. Wish I was logged in to check it out, but I'm not in a place I can log in right now
  3. Wow these griefers really need to get a life don't they?
  4. Don't be sorry, and don't be scared. There's lots of crazy stuff happens in SL, and no one can really kill your PC, although some things might jar your graphics a little bit. Can you detach everything you're wearing? If this thing is giving you messages no matter which sim you're in, then it is something you've unwittingly got attached to you. Did someone give you a hat or a ring or anything you are wearing? They could have shoved a spam gesture into that. A free gift, something you picked up somewhere?
  5. Hell, yeah, I forgot about the mute/block the object/person.
  6. Sounds like you've landed in a sandbox or a place where griefers can set their tools going. Can you teleport away from that sim? If you can then do. If you can't then quit, change your starting location to somewhere else (Smith for example) and log back in again. What is the name of the sim? Linden people need to know someone is possibly bringing a sim performance to breaking point with their device.
  7. Pity there aren't any Lindens reading these forum threads who could just give an individual helping hand to Sorrow - they're gonna lose yet another resident before they've had chance to see how great the SL world is.
  8. So how we gonna get Sorrow inworld? You grab their arms, I grab their legs and we pull them in world??
  9. http://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/Login-failure/ta-p/700109 But new people shouldn't be having so much difficulty logging in. I would actually advise the OP instal an approved third party viewer like Phoenix or Imprudence. If OP is attempting to login using Viewer 2, it's possibly the reason why cannot login. List of approved third party viewers is on http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Third_Party_Viewer_Directory
  10. no, LoveAngel, you are wrong. SorrowfulWoe is such a brand new avatar that they do not need to activate their account. That procedure has been done away with now.
  11. You are brand new, and don't need to activate your account. You should have had an email sent to you when you first chose your avatar and the name for it, that will have gone to the email address you linked with this avatar.
  12. You really just need to wear a bald base to cover up the default hair. If you haven't got one in your inventory, look at Marketplace (or maybe someone logged in currently can pass you one)

  14. Hmmm this sounds like something relating to the stuff added into the mix this week perhaps. If sims/servers have been reverted during the process, stuff rezzed, or transactions made, could have been reverted too. Technical info can be found for this week's updates/deploys http://community.secondlife.com/t5/Second-Life-Server/Deploys-for-the-week-of-2011-05-09/m-p/862357 (Oskar Linden notifies everyone of the new things being added on a weekly basis - keep your eyes peeled every Monday for next set of updates due) Also, if you think anything has occurred that can be attributed to the deploys/updates taking place, its always useful to the Linden people if you let them know on these forum threads so they can address the issues as soon as pos.
  15. Good luck to you, and Jimmy.
  16. Hi, Alyssa, it was good to meet you just now inworld. It does look to me like the sim owner/one of the estate managers has switched off access to the sim, and gone away for a few days. It is a good sign that the adjacent sim, which they also own, is still live, though, and I feel it was just an error. As Peewee says, if you or your partner are Premium Members, it would be worth you contacting Live Chat to see if they can help you, but if there is nothing actually wrong with the sim, performance-wise, I doubt they will restart the sim (but it is worth an ask). If the estate manager accidentally left the sim "no access" to anyone and then went on vacation for a week or two, all you can do is wait. They should probably give you a refund for the time you were not able to access the land you rent from them, as a gesture of goodwill. Please keep this thread up to date, because I'd love to know the outcome. I am sure all will work out in the next few days/week. It seems to be a genuine error on the part of the estate manager.
  17. Did the escort go offline immediately? When did it happen? Have you tried to contact the escort? Maybe she just happened to crash at an inopportune moment and couldn't get back connected again. Maybe the escort will give you a credit note for a future session? Don't damn her/him just yet, mate. Get the facts straight first.
