Unable to log in for about 3 hours now...please help!

I have been unable to log in with the SL viewer for about 3 hours now. Everytime I try, I get the following message: 

"Login failed. The system is logging you out right now. Your Account will not be available until 2012-01-31 13:20:14 Pacific Time." (The time it gives is about a minute later)

I have been trying over and over again with the same message popping up.

Hello Eternal. Please, you also check out the link i gave above. Summary you have to change your log in location. If it doesn't work, submit a ticket under account issues --> second life web login issues. Report there the problem and wait for a reply. This bug unfortunately affects many many residents. SL Q&A are full with questions and reports for the same bug.

Once you understand what is happening you’ll have a better chance of fixing it and getting logged in. Also, it helps to know there have been several different causes, fixes, and work a round’s for this problem over time.

Several months ago there was a problem of the viewers not logging out correctly or the servers not noticing the log out. This left the last region you were in thinking you were still logged in. Over the years a number of things have caused the same symptom. People in the region could often still see your avatar long after you logged out, thus the name ghost came to apply to this problem.

Since many of us use a login to last location, our login would be rejected by the region because it thought we were already there. The fix was to login into a different region then travel to our previous logout location and scare our ghost away. (The region would wake up and realize the ghost was a mistake and drop it.) But, that doesn’t always work.

Another problem was found with mesh capable viewers. To solve that problem one had to change to an older version without the mesh capability and login with it. After logging out they could once again login with a mesh capable viewer. This problem seems to have been fixed. Plus it is getting harder to find a viewer without mesh capabilities.

The current fix is to call support and explain the problem. They will kick your ghost out. Then you can log in.

I’ve gotten emails saying the 60 second window trick is getting them in. I recommend you only try it if support is being really slow. It is tedious and throws a load on the login servers.
