Is there a way to find items on the map? My horse simply ran away.

My horse was seen four sims away by my roommate and the house appears normal again. Is there a way to find my items on the map?

Your own objects show up as being blue on the Mini Map. That might help you track down your horse.  However, if it's truly running loose around the grid, it should probably eventually wander into an area of land where there is an auto-return set on it, and it may arrive back in your inventory at any time. Just keep checking your Lost and Found folder.

You can try this if you are patient and want to wander around the sims you think your horse might be in.

1. Show the Advanced menu on your viewer if it's not already (CTRL-ALT-D) and uncheck "Limit select distance" on the Advanced menu.

2. Now go to Build menu / Options. Check "Select only my objects".

3. Now for the tricky part. Go to the SIM you think your horse might be in. Fly really high above it and open the Edit Tool (CTRL-3). Draw a selection rectangle over whatever you can see on the ground. You MIGHT get lucky and find your horse in which case you can take it back into inventory.

Good luck. This may or may not work but if you have the time and energy, it's worth a shot.

Be sure to put your settings back to what they were after you're done doing this.

Download and install the Firestorm viewer, then use Area Search to find anything you are looking for within the search area.

Area search (in Firestorm) only works on the current region. That may not be the easiest way to find something across several regions.

Not all that hard. All you have to do is move from one sim to the next, searching one at a time. Area Search takes almost no time at all. Besides, the OP already knows which sim the horse is on.
