Jacki Silverfall
All these ugly for sale signs?I had read some time ago that these "farms" were not allowed on the grid. They are pretty high in the air and rotate.I'm curious...:/

Venus Petrov
That deserves an Abuse Report. LL *will* act.
Amethyst Jetaime
On a private estate, the estate owner can do what they want. If its a landowner and not the estate owner doing it, they it depends on the covenant. On the mainland it varies, Some regions have no covenant and some do. You have to read the rules in the covenant, if it has one. I tried to find something in the knowledge base about for sale signs in general, but couldn't find anything. LL did outlaw ad farms, which were 16sqm lots that people used to have that were for putting up ads and showing in search only. You can't even parcel off a small lot anymore and put it in search unless its at least a 512 I believe and that's how its enforced, not through a covenant. That appears to be signs for land that is for sale and technically not an ad farm. So, it may be legal depending on the sim where it is.
Void Singer
legal? yes. in compliance with ToS? no. the difference may not seem like much but it is important.
Jacki Silverfall
It is on the mainland next to a airport I fly out of. As far as I have ever read there is no covenant in the mainland.
Ann Otoole
not allowed. Sadly you need a hundred people to AR party the offenders. Otherwise LL ignores it.
Tiffy Vella
AR early, AR often. (Niiice, having them in the air next to an airport, too.)
Phil Deakins
According to the rules that came in a couple of years ago:- Advertisements (not just For Sale signs) must be grounded - those in the pic are not. No dimension can exceed 8m. Those in pic look like they are in compliance with that. No person can display more than one sign in a sim. In short, those signs contravene the rules in more than one way and are ARable.
Drongle McMahon
The policy is in the wiki, here. See the section "Advertising rules and restrictions" and the third item in the FAQ that follows it. It might be worth directing the attention of the owner of the signs to this information before ARing. They may simply be unaware of the policy. eta: whoops. Sorry Phil, this was meant to be an aswer to the OP.
Phil Deakins
You see what memory does? I wrongly remembered it as an 8m limit in any dimension, but it's only the limit in the vertical dimension. And there are some other rules that I'd forgotten - no spinning, for instance, and the OP said that those ads were spinning.
