what is boxed items

I get many items that says "boxed" and when i wear them they are just big advertisement on my hands.

 

Some are just like big gift boxes?  Is it something i can open and use

Boxed items are like a package of things you ordered from Amazon. The stuff you bought is inside.

So... how to get the stuff out?

You need to be in a place where you have rez permission. Any sandbox will do. Use the world map to find a sandbox. In the location window type sandbox and press find. You'll get a list of hundreds. If you are a Premium member you'll have access to all of them. If not, premium sandboxes won't let you in. No Problems there hundreds, if not thousands, more that will.

Once in the sandbox you should see the 'rez' icon in the top menu bar, a box looking icon, loose its red circle-slash. If not your not in the sandbox yet. Many snadboxes land you outside the sandbox in their shapping or advertising area. So, you may to find the sandbox area. They are usually well marked. If not, find another one.

Find the object in your inventory. Click and drag it from the inventory panel to the ground. Then right click it and select unpack. You may get a notice that some items are no copy and be asked if you really want to move them to your invenotroy. You do, so answer yes.

Once opened and moved to your inventory you can right click and TAKE the box or delete it. If a copy of the box is still in inventory, it is Copy OK and you can delete the copy on the ground.

You will find a new folder in your inventory after unpacking. You can click RECENT at the top of inventory to make it easier to find. Your stuff will be in the new folder.

They are planning to make this process of unpacking unecessary. It is in testing now.

The items that you bought are inside. Rez the box onto the ground (in a place where you are able to do this) and then click on the box and open it. If you prefer, you can right click on the box and edit it, to peep in the contents tab. Don't worry, your items are safely stored inside these boxes - you have not been deceived.

Many items are delivered in boxes, especially when they contain whole avatars or outfits with more than one item. Search for a place where you can place thing, like a sandbox for example. Then open your inventory and select one of the boxes and drag it out of your inventory to the ground. You will now see the box. Right click it and select the option to open it. You will get a window showing what is in the box. Copy it to your inventory. You will get a folder named after the item where you can find the clothes, hair or what ever you brought.
