  1. You can access a very basic version of Second Life, using applications such as Pocket MV or Sparkle. There may be others but I have only used these two, with limited success.
  2. Undelivered Marketplace Items: First of all, just be patient. The software for the marketplace is often unreliable and it may take anything from a few minutes up to a few hours for the item to arrive. If, after many hours, the item has not arrived, just go to the Marketplace site and click on "My Account" under "My Marketplace" at the very top of the screen. You can see here if you have been billed or not by going to "Order History" on the left hand side of the screen. If you haven't been billed, it will explain that the money has been refunded and a payment of zero will be shown. The on screen notes will leave you in doubt of whether you have been billed or not. If you have not been billed, you may want to make a second attempt at buying the product. If you have been billed, simply send the merchant a notecard inworld. (A notecard is more reliable than an instant message, as instant messages are often capped for merchants who receive a lot of correspondence.) Make sure that your notecard is polite and contains details of the failed transaction. Most merchants will be very willing to resend the item. Please give them a day or two to reply - don't expect an answer within minutes. You must remember that merchants are no different to you and do not sit by their computers at all hours of the day. One final word, to reduce the chances of the problem occurring again, remember not to buy multiple items at the same time,as this may increase the chance of causing the software to fail. It's safer to buy one object at a time. Good luck with your next purchase. Generally, it's quite an efficient way of buying specific products - just, don't expect it to be perfect!
  3. Insert the number 1 in the field named "available quantity" in the listing.

  6. Strangely, the same problem happened to me a few minutes ago. I wore a HUD on my screen and the HUD appeared squashed. At first I couldn't work out what was wrong and then I tried to rotate the HUD through 90 degrees. This solved the problem. Apparently, the HUD had attached itself to my screen at an angle of 90 degrees and so, although it worked fine, I was actually looking at the edge and not the front. To check that this is the problem you are having, right click on the HUD and navigate to the "Object" tab. Make a pencil note of the rotation figures on some scrap paper in case you want to revert these. (They are most likely 0, 0 and 0) Try entering a value of 90 or 270 degrees for each of the three fields in turn and see if this solves your problem. (Personally, on my HUD, I found that the y-field needed a value of 90.) If this does not solve your problem, revert the values to the three values that you recorded on scrap paper and try another solution. Good luck.

  12. Start the game by walking through the portal. You will get a new HUD and, best of all, the new HUD will restart at the point the old one was lost.
  13. I guess the chair is in a neighbour's shop. You may wish to politely speak with your neighbour because, although you can mute it, it will continue to SPAM your customers. You may like to know that this chair has a whisper/chat/shout function. It is an easy operation for the owner to change the setting to "whisper" if you request this tactfully.
  14. I had the same problem a week ago. Although you have sorted it, for others who are experiencing problems, I found that the only way I could add a pick was to add the "picks" icon to the main screen menu (the menu that exists on the left, right and lower sections of the main screen) and then access this way. I found that I couldn't add picks by right-clicking on my avatar!
  15. Gosh, I received this message too. I don't feel quite so flattered now that I have found out everyone received the same. I didn't realise that it was a scam and my politeness dictated that I ought to reply. I felt quite a fraud turning her offer of friendship down and I tried to do it as tactfully as possible. I don't feel quite so bad now, so thank you for alerting me to the fact that it was a scam.
