Those are not clouds reflecting on the water in the first photo. That's purely the shine/ripple effect of PBR water creating that "reflected clouds" effect.

Weirdly, nothing seems to be reflected in PBR water from above 50 cm height of the water surface. I tested this by rezzing some basic cube prims 50cm above the water and they barely reflected. See how my boat isn't even reflected when compared to the non-PBR version ?

The new PBR Midday and unreflective/less reflective water combo is a horrible inferior mess.

The change to water with deferred rendering is a well-known issue; there are at least three Bug Reports on Canny about it. I think @Henri Beauchamp has introduced at least a temporary fix in his viewer.

In general, I don't mind the look of the water in your PBR pic, but I agree that it needs better transparency and reflections. I'm actually holding onto my old pre-PBR version of Black Dragon to use for pics that involve Linden water. I hope they fix this.
