Cristiano Midnight
Lately I have fallen down the rabbit hole of creating pbr materials with Substance Painter and also Materialize, and now that a certain 3rd party viewer is testing pbr in beta I have started to retexture some things at my home as I create materials for it. Recently I undertook retexturing the walls and floor of my pool and also my pool deck. The bottom of the pool has a glass facade tile, the walls have a black ceramic tile, and the deck has a mosaic tile. aht1981
https://gyazo.com/e79600ec8bb7fb2f24d7aadfabf30444 I made the materials in SD. but a good friend took the lighting next level and helped improve the look of the water. It's my attempt at recreating Hammam Al Andalus, though my version is much bigger in scale. Edited March 9 by aht1981

I have been using Substance Painter to churn out new textures. This came out beautifully: Original texture - not bad, but blurry up close: https://gyazo.com/c7c63ef1ef7fb278ad53cf3fb267f7db Replacement in pbr: https://gyazo.com/153730d43a4684257ba3a3af15252353 This morning I redid the pavement in front of my house: Original texture on right, new texture on left: https://gyazo.com/63e5aacf93bec7027806d5abf44434c9 This is the whole road repaved with the new material: https://gyazo.com/8a115136f159e97fb7a0f364edbc6f4a I am obsessed now with redoing every texture in my builds. 😱
Extrude Ragu
My work is a bit nooby, I'm more of a programmer than an artist, but I do have fun with PBR https://i.gyazo.com/aaf620b538a91877012494195dc9a673.mp4 WIP PBR Street Trim, still some unused space to fill
Extrude Ragu
This trim I used to create a mesh for my town center... It's a circular pavement with some zigzag pattern pavements to the sides. It's all done using that one trim sheet, 'cept the manholes which are part of my alpha mask trim sheet Everything is that one trim except the manholes, which are a small part of another trim shared with buildings.
Extrude Ragu
Close ups of the manholes which are also custom made for my town... ( I made seperate posts due to upload limit per post )
Extrude Ragu
Oh, yeah this WcDonalds I did using PBR I really like the way light catches on these tiles https://i.gyazo.com/e7ff90801ccdecbcbb9ce2a5181d7d13.mp4 Metals that look like metals are so nice... and the environment reflections...

Dana Enyo
I'm blown away by the possibilities of PBR. In my case, it's for clothes. Unlike buildings and furniture, PBR clothes are going to change appearance constantly as people move around the grid; I find it hugely fun not knowing how I'm going to look after my next TP! So I figure my challenge is to prepare my potential customers so they're not disappointed when their new outfit doesn't look like the Marketplace photo! To that end I've been building a big Flickr album with Experiments and comparison montages; lots of videos too. (URL: http://tinyurl.com/danaenyoPBRflickr ) Who else is very excited are SL's machinima artists. They have the time (and they care enough) to tweak each shooting environment so it's perfect, and PBR opens some whole new worlds. Dang, this is fun!
