Anything good this week?

https://places.secondlife.com/parcels/291521/whinlatter-128-78-moderate-32928m looks pretty interesting. Mature Sansara half-region with a long roadside and some deep water on the other side (steep, not beach) in a pretty pleasant-lookiing area. Not ideal for subdividing to resell, but could be a pretty interesting site for an ambitious build. No bids yet, closes Thursday.

Be nice if the individual who owns the other half or so of the region, part of the Muirhead complex, would buy it. They do really nice, interesting projects in several different regions. I don't think this auction offers enough water access though.

Can you specify a "minimum bid" with Auctions?

Let's say, I bought my land for L$175K  but wouldn't want to sell it for less than that.

If I understand your question right, you're asking about you auctioning off your land and setting a minimum bid or reserve price to ensure it only sells if people are willing to bid a certain amount or higher.

Resident to resident auctions are not currently enabled, although there's a bunch of references to them in various written guides still, so any confusion is understandable. I guess there were issues with shill bidding/cheating in the past.

Still?? Then auctions are even more a limited part of the land market than I thought. When "someone" said auctions ARE the land market, that was complete BS!

The auction for this parcel starts on the 19th of January and ends on the 21st of January, 12:00 PM SLT.

Good luck ☘️

Wow, another Bay City parcel, this one is even better. (https://places.secondlife.com/parcels/292843/bay-city-moosehead-240-104-moderate-1024m)

1024m2 with street access. A perfect 32x32 square which makes this parcel quite good in comparison to some other Bay City parcels that have strange shapes. It has a Moderate rating, and is located in the Bay City - Moosehead region.

The auction for this one has already started, and it ends on the 25th of January, 12:00 PM SLT.

  • 4 weeks later...

The parcel next to this one in Eos has always intrigued me. Well specifically the owner. They own numerous Horizons parcels which appear to have been won at the original Horizons auctions, but I never see them build on them. I am lucky to own one that sits adjacent to one of theirs'. A wonderful neighbor on mainland. 😉

ahhh, the dynamic and deep pocketed realty duo return to bid big on two Bay City parcels, Morton and Falconmoon. Capitalism at its best.

And yet an even bigger bid on a parcel located in the "big bang" region where this virtual world supposedly started, Da Boom L$175m2. Which I can only assume was purchased with a historical and altruistic mind bent. One should take the owner's SL historical tour via the Prim Museum http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Ritch/15/226/31
