can't get into a full region

i am premium and should be able to get in if full i thought ... is there like a max number of over the limit ?

A lot of the mainland regions are set to a multiple of eleven with one of each eleven reserved for Premium accounts.

For example, the region I am currently visiting is set to 44, of which 4 are reserved for Premium/Premium Plus accounts.  Keep in mind that Linden Lab did not make those reservations out of the previous allowance but instead they added the reserved allowances.  40 became 40 + 4 = 44, so put away those torches and pitchforks.

There are quite a lot of Premium/Premium Plus accounts in Second Life so it's not unusual to try to enter a region only to discover that it is already full to the upper limit including the reserved allowed.

Yes, there is, but I can't recall what the max is.  If you're trying to get into a really busy region, though, there's always a chance that you'll be blocked, even as a Premium member.  Avatars are the single greatest source of lag in a region, especially if they are coming and going a lot.  There's only so much lag that the servers can stand before they say, "ENOUGH!" and either shut down or start bumping people.

It actually depends on what the max number is set to on that region.  100 is the max supported by a full region but many set it lower to combat lag.   Here is the specifics of what is possibly available for premium members...

Preferred access to highly populated regions

Regions in Second Life have a bonus capacity to allow region owners, estate managers, and Residents with Premium and Premium Plus accounts to enter an otherwise full Region. The default limit on the number of avatars allowed in a region is as follows:

• Full Regions support an extra 10% (100 to 110)
• Homesteads support an extra 25% (20 to 25)
• Open Spaces support an extra 20% (10 to 12)
