Sims tracking your IP adress and with it no longer allowing alts. Is this legal?

It was actually an issue many years ago on SL. It culminated with one viewer developer launching a DDoS attack on another developer. That was the point that LL took action. LL was aware of what was going on but they only acted after their platform was used to attempt a federal crime.

You mean when Fractured used the Emerald viewer to DDoS a website without the full knowledge of ALL of the [Emerald] devs?

He cost me a desktop I couldn't afford to replace at the time.

If you attempt to teleport to a region and it refuses you due to an estate-level ban, it will refuse any subsequent attempts from your IP address until the region is restarted. I don't think this

The ban type mentioned does not require media access - this is not the first time something like this has come up and I recall (vaguely) that at one point it was revealed that Estate/Region level bans
