When did the allowed land holdings for premium increase?. I have been out of the loop for a couple of months as I have had some RL stuff to deal with.....but we are allowed more now?

Weird...maybe a glitch or something turned on early that shouldn't be.

The allowed land holdings for premium, without extra tier charge, is still 1024 sqm.    Check on Land Manager -> Land Use Fees and see if you have the radio button checked for allowing 1024 sqm - that, along with your premium covered 1024 sqm, would make your allowed holdings show as 2048 sqm.    

I have the premium 1024 allowance, plus pay $7 per month for an additonal 1024, and my allowed holdings show as 2048 sqm.  If you only own 1024, then you wouldn't be charged for the extra 1024.

What Moira said.  I'm betting you've got the little button for 1024 check on the Land Use Fees.
