Where can I find classes on building things like working doors and windows?

check Search/Events/Education for classes...it might be the classes won't be specifically about windows and doors but the same building principles work for many things.  Check both building classes and scripting as making doors open is a script

There are many inworld classes offered very week at places like Builder's Brewery and NCI.  Before you do that, though, take some time to visit the Ivory Tower of Prims and work through as many of their exercises and tutorials as you can.  That's how most of us began learning to handle the Edit tools. It's all self-paced and well laid out.  Once you have done that you'll be ready to take a class, and you'll be one step ahead of the newbies who haven't even figured out that they have Edit tools yet.  :smileyhappy:

The keyword here is 'building'. As Lyra points out, if you can build, you can build doors and windows, too. Follow the advice of both Rolig and Lyra, and you will be able to build (almost) whatever you want.
