This is starting to happen with increased frequency and is getting very annoying.

A dj or host will put out a tip jar, at the end of their shift whne they go to pick it up, it won't allow them to get it, they just keep getting copy after copy, or else it just sits there.  So i come along and as I have the rights to do this I will click return and nothing happens.  Then I will open the about land menu and click on objects, find it in the drop down menu and return it that way.  The item poofs from the list but it is still there in front of me, we have issued tickets for this but its starting to happen more and more and its very annoying.  Any thoughts on how to prevent or rectify this problem?

Something similar happened recently to me. A friend rezed a simple cube, but could not return or delete it. Even I, the landowner, could not return or delete it. The only thing I could do was move it - so I moved it onto a Linden parcel. Next day, it was gone. I have a hunch the problem was related to the rolling restarts. Not sure.

yeah object owners may get a few more options... jumpPos to nowhere (I don't advise this for objects you care about, because they require being rezzed by script to clear or access to the zero point on a region), scripted delete, setting temporary, moving onto land with short return limits, or into the void. making them physical and volume detect so they drop through the ground.... etc etc.

I came up with an inspired idea to solve this problem and it completely backfired lol

If you select "wear" and then "detach" it does work to get the item off the sim...Unfortunately it went back to his Library and not his inventory when he detached it and now its stuck there.....So I wouldn`t recommend that solution unless you are desperate. :(
