good places to go to meet

I like Chasers Pub (full disclosure -- I host there, and do so because I enjoyed it so much).  They talk in local chat most of the time, and it's just a delightful crew of people.  I believe their DJ sets start at about noon SLT.

Sometimes there are more people there than others.  It's not a huge venue, but I really do like it

I've met more people at Japan Tempura by far, than anywhere else in SL. There are always people who want to talk there, and all types. Just hop on a tai chi ball, and if there isn't chatter in local, it doesn't take long for an IM. I guess it really depends what sort of venue you prefer. I never seem to make friends at clubs.
