I downloaded the new Mac version and now I can't connect, but I can connect when using old Viewer.

Here is a fix posted by Gio Solo that might help you:

I found a temporary solution for my Mac. Now I can use Second Life Viewer 2.6.3.

Basically I had to add the following additional DNS servers to my DNS settings in Network settings under System Preferences:

208.67.222.222

This is a common issue and the fix provided by Gio does not seem to work. Please visit the Second Life™ Bug Tracker (Jira) and vote on the following issue.

Please also attach your secondlife.log file in order to help Linden Lab determine and resolve the problem.

@David, it may not work for you but it has worked for others, so there is no harm in people trying it.

Does it help (re)moving the Second Life folder from ~/Application support/ before logging in? (The folder contains all avatar specific files - including Chat and IM logs so you may not want to throw it away - as well as a lot of viewer settings)

I had to do the above a few viewer versions ago when the viewer refused to start normally.

Hey me neither.  And what sucks, I threw away my old viewer, and I haven't been able to log on for two days now, and there is nowhere to complain about this but here!!   AHHHH!!

@Partytongue. Try to download the previous version from here: http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Supported_Viewers

Go into preferences after installing it and set it to download and install new versions manually.
