0 Rolig Loon
Aha! That's a very different question. You can do a lot of research on line to find streams that you like, or you can wander around SL and listen for streams that other people are using (and hope that you can copy the URL out of their About Land) , or you can find lists like http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Music_streams And then share ones that you find when other people ask you.
0 Lindal Kidd
Another way is to install the free VLC streaming media player on your computer. (Other players will work too, but VLC is what I use and am familiar with). Browse to the SHOUTcast website. You'll see a long list of streaming stations. Pick one that's in the MP3 format, Second Life doesn't work with AAC. Click the Download button, then right click the downloaded station and select Open. VLC will start to play it. Go to Tools>Media Information in the VLC menu bar. In the window that opens, there is a URL at the bottom of the window. Copy that. Paste that URL into your Music URL box in the Second Life viewer About Land window. (Not the Media URL, that's for video streams). All of this can be simpler if you buy one of the many "radios" available from creators. I'm fond of the one sold by TrigiTec...it's not expensive, it's reliable, and it's not too hard to learn how to use. Note that this is not a portable radio...it's intended to be used on land that you rent or own.
