I would like to have multiple dancers and patrons in a "Night Club" setting,

Is it possible to have multiple "bot" avatars dancing on a dance floor that both them and real people avatars can be on.

As well as other "Bots" walking around and doing things on "pose balls" (ie: playing pool, pinball and slot machines)

Cheers

Scripted agents -- bots -- are ordinary avatars, only their behaviour is controlled by code on the computer that's running them rather than by the person behind the keyboard.    Typically they're run via a text-only viewer, since that's a lot more economical of computer resources and you can run several from the one PC without wrecking your performance.

I'm pretty sure you can have them walking around pre-set routes.  Certainly you can have them jumping on and off poseballs and the like.  I rather doubt it would be possible to animate playing pool at all convincingly but certainly simpler actions like playing pinball and slot machines should be simple to do.

Yes, although you should be aware that bots, like avatars in general, will create some load on the region's servers and therefore potentially cause some lag.  You should also be aware that you may not "use robots or other automated means to increase traffic to any Virtual Land" TOS (sect. 6.3). Other than that, there are no restrictions other than ones that your landlord may impose.  To have multiple bots, you'll of course need to have them all hosted on external servers somewhere and then script them to perform whatever tasks you have in mind.

And don't forget when LL releases Animesh you can fill your club with animated and interactive barkeeps, bouncers, dancers, strippers and drunks. They will look just like bots but instead of agents they will be objects. The primary resource you'll have to be concerned with is land impact consumption.

..and with a little AI, the Animesh "avatars" will be kinda, more polite, more interactive, and more responsive than "real" avatars!

There is a fairly obscure policy requiring accounts primarily run as bots to register as scripted agents.
