I can't get underwear garment off my avatar

I can't get underwear off my avatar and it looks silly with outfits IM trying to ware

Open your inventory and type in WORN in the text entry box at the top.

See what garment you want removed and either double click on the item (if you have that preference checked) or detach the item from your avatar.

You can also use the pie menu when you click on yourself.  Clothing>etc.

 

 

ETA:  The underwear may be part of your new avatar shape and skin - you can not remove.  Once you get more comfortable in SL, consider getting yourself a new skin and shape.  You will not have underwear on unless you put it on.

If nothing works, try wearing one peice of underwear from the library and than taking it of

Might be a newbie skin, they have painted-on underwear.

I suggest you might get a new skin then.

Is it an actual garmet, an inventory item or is it part of the "skin" of your avatar?  I think all of the skins that you get when you sign up have underwear painted on them.  A good way to check is to open your inventory, and enter "worn" in the search bar at the top of the inventory. 

This will show all of the items currently worn by your avie.  If there is some underwear present, then you can select it there and remove it.

If there is no underwear being worn and you still see it on the avie, then it is part of your avatar's skin and you will need to get your hands on a underwear free skin somewhere.  There are a lot of freebie skins out there that are completey nekkid so that won't be too hard to find.  Of course, most retail skins are underwear free.

if you haven't changed skin recently and your wearing the one you started with that skin has an underwear modesty layer painted on as part of it you can change it for any skin that takes your fancy some places like LAQ have a freebie skin on offer some places like skinthesis have lucky chairs with free skins or you can look in any freebie center like freebie dungeon or on the marketplace if you can't afford a skin by and large they will be anatomically correct with no modesty layers

If you are using an LL default skin,

you have to buy a new one from marketplace

yup.. i bet that's what it is.. i had the same prob until i bought a new skin.
