Who? Us?

We aren't employees, just to clarify that. The answer section of the forum provides a place where users help users. This is in no way a place to contact the support staff of LL. So you aren't paying us a dime and we aren't obligated to treat you like a royal.

If you still like to cancel your subscription go to your dashboard (you can click the second life icon at the left corner to get there quickly) , select "account" and then "premium membership".

It sounds like you are a Premium member.  TheTOS (sect 4.3) says that "each time your subscription comes up for renewal, we have the right to charge your credit card or debit your account the then-current renewal rate plus any applicable taxes we are required to collect, and you authorize us to do so."  So your Premium membership will renew automatically unless you tell Linden Lab not to do it.

You have two choices.  You can choose to cancel your Premium membership and downgrade to a free Basic membership like many of the rest of us, or you can leave SL altogether.  No matter which option you choose, you will still be a Premium member until the end of your current membership period, since it's prepaid. If you're primarily concerned about the cost of your membership, I'd recommend the first option.  You've only been in SL for 5 days -- hardly enough time to find out much about the world and to discover places and people you can enjoy.  If you've had a few bad experiences with a handful of idiots somewhere, don't stay there. Rudeness can happen anywhere in SL or RL, but you don't have to stay around rude people and you shouldn't assume that everyoine you meet will be like those few. Get out and start exploring.  Hang in there.

If you really do want to downgrade or even leave SL, the information you'll need is all at https://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/Premium-membership and https://secondlife.com/my/account/cancel.php?/ta-p/1054477#Section_.7 .  Or you can simply walk away when you have downgraded to a Basic membership, instead of canceling.  When you change your mind in a month or two, we'll still be here and it won't cost you a thing to log in again.

Well this [Totally Rude] Helper does wish you well after your horrible experience in SL and with the SL Answers forums.

Remember your Premium Membership will still be in effect for the paid-for term you chose. If you chose the monthly renewal option that means you're good to play until February 11th. However you won't get your L$1000 sign-up bonus as you will fall short of the required 45 continuous days of membership requirement.
