AmneZiaStrand
I'm sure you get this question quite frequent, however I have a Google Chromebook, and was hoping to access Sl, is there any way, or a method i can make this happen?
Darren Scorpio
Can you install android apps on it? If so then there is SLgo. Other than that you are sol.
Darren Scorpio
Actually. If you can install something like Ubuntu on it that might be another route as long as the system specs are enough to run SL.
AmneZiaStrand
I don't see this SLgo, I'm looking in my chrome web store, I see various Ubuntu selections,
Darren Scorpio
SL go is for android if you are able to use android apps on it and they are not found on chrome webstore (I don't even know what chrome webstore is). Chromebook seems to me like its a web browser on a machine? I am sorry but your only option other than buying a laptop is to install Ubuntu on it (meaning you'll have to install a whole new operating system on it), or to test it out you can run it from a usb disk if chromebook allows. AmneZiaStrand
what do you mean by an entirely different operating system? Couldn't that possibly make my use of this laptop obselete?

Darren Scorpio
You're still trying to run SL from Chrome OS it seems. Chrome OS cannot run SL there is no chrome app that I know of for SL. EDIT: Ahh I didn't see you had downloaded the tarball. Which method of running Ubuntu are you using?
AmneZiaStrand
I didn't download it yet, as i'm entirely unsure how to go about it, in fear of destroying the laptop an it's use entirely. >.<
Jean Horten
Chrome OS is not a supported OS by any viewer for Second Life, either install a different operating system on your chromebook or get another computer that runs an operating system that is supported by a viewer of your choice. Besides that, I doubt that the tech specs of a chromebook are sufficient to run any viewer statisfactory. J.
Whiteangel Falconvale
At this time no, there is no way to acess sl on a chrome book. All a chromebook is is a net book that access the chrome web store (Very different from Google play.) You are unable to download to the chrome book, and as of right now there is no browser access to sl at this time. Take it from me, I used to work for google play and know the devices in and out still. LMAO
Ohjiro Watanabe
This talkes about running android apps on Chrombook: http://www.pcadvisor.co.uk/how-to/google-android/3590869/how-use-android-apps-on-chromebook/ which may give you the option to run SLGo or the android viewer Lumiya. http://www.lumiyaviewer.com/
Baloo Uriza
No, a netbook will not do high end graphics rendering, which is what you need for SL.
Montana Corleone
Moot point anyway, SLGo is no more at the end of April 2015, having sold the patents to Sony who want to push old Playstation games on it. http://support.onlive.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/238/
