Hide groups?

Does anyone know how to hide groupd you are in in your profile so they can not be seen by others? I am on the forestorm beta viewer.

Open the profile (same place where you can see who is in the group or if the group can send you notices) of each group and uncheck the box "show in my profile" and click save. The group should disappear then in your profile.

I think you have to open the Group page and there should be a small check box... I forget what it says, I'm getting old. Show something it says.

 

By default, others can see the groups to which you belong in your profile.

To hide a group so that it does not appear in your profile:

1. Choose Communicate > Groups or right-click on yourself and choose My Groups.
2. Click the group you want to hide 
3. Click Group Profile.
4. Deselect Show in my profile.
5. Click Save.

Now mind you that if you have hidden the group from visibility in your profile this does not hide your membership or status in the group. Anyone who is also a member can see your status from the groups Roles & Members information page.

I dont think you can truly hide them in the newest firestorm - the 'hidden' groups do not automatically disply but tehre is a button to click that will display anther avatars 'hidden' groups. If someknows how to disable that, please let me know.

I've tried de-selecting the "Show in my profile" and the groups are still there (yes, I followed the steps and yes I relogged). I'm using Phoenix Firestorm v 4.4.2.34167....any other suggestions on how I can get them off my profile?

You will still be able to see the groups on your own profile but others won't.  You can check this by using an alt to log in and pull up your profile or ask a friend if s/he sees the group/s.

I have hidden my groups, but would also like to put a message in my group field indicating why.  Does anyone know how to go about doing that?

Create a group whith you and an alt then write your drama as the group discription.  Hide everything but that one group and your done.
