Is there a way to have the viewer save multiple user(alts) names

Sure.  When you log in, click the "Save password" box.  When you log in with a different account, do the same thing.  You should end up with a menu of login names and saved passwords to choose from.

(Hmmm.. I think that works on V3.  It certainly does on Firestorm.)

Unfortunately Rolig is wrong in this case. Standard Linden Lab Viewer 3 does not have something like a usermanager. It will only save the last username you entered. If you really want to achieve that with the official viewer, you should create desktop shortcuts for each account and use the --login <firstname> <lastname> <password> switch to automatically login with a specific avatar.
