Question

For quite some time now- whenever I try to upload a file to my inventory-- as soon as I click on the "UPLOAD"...... I get logged off.

Is there anyone that knows why that happens & would help me to get it straightened out?

Yes, take a look at

Microsoft Skydrive: Viewer crash on any file browser operation

The same problem occurs for some people with Amazon's Cloud Drive and with the equivalent for Macs.  There are a couple of solutions.  The easiest is to disable SkyDrive while you are in SL.  The other solution is more satistfying but requires some technical courage.  If you read down the comments in that JIRA report, you'll find a post by Khalif Latifah that expolains how to make a registry change that gets around the problem without disabling SkyDrive.  It's well written and it works, but it does take some nerve to mess around with your computer's registry.

Interesting. I deal with all kinds of graphics files and I never see any crash when I select the incorrect format one. In many cases SL has limited my view to only acceptable file types.

Don't know what you are doing, but a) I can't even choose to upload a file if it has the wrong file extension and b) if I rename a GIF file to .png and try to upload it, I get an error message about a wrong format, but the viewer doesn't crash.
