CajunMaster
Is there a way to make a prim that lays flat on the ground and follows the contors of the land?
Amethyst Jetaime
Yes, if you use a sculpted prim. There is a device on the marketplace that will do just that called Land Map.
CajunMaster
Yes I know about land map and it does a good job, but since my parcel is quite small I was hoping to avoid spending 1500L for this. There is no way to build a flexi for this?
Indigo Mertel
There is no better way to do what you want than using a tool like LandMap. Even if you manually made a sculpt or mesh yourself it would not be as precise and it would cost considerable more time. LandMap is a great tool and it's easy to use, I highly recommend it. CajunMaster
I'm sure it's a fine product, but overkill for my needs. I guess the answer to my question is "no" then. Thanks
Rolig Loon
That's often a problem with one-time projects, whether you're in SL or RL. You have to decide whether it's worth investing in power saws, tile nippers, sewing machines, and bundt pans or whether you should try and make do with a hand saw, an old pair of pliers, needle and thread, and a plain old cake pan. Or whether you should hire a professional, or just give up. In this case, is it worth $6 -- the price of a modest lunch -- to make a fake terraform for the parcel? CajunMaster
All true, I'm not arguing. What I have done is good enough for now. Maybe I'll go with land map later. I am surprised that flexi's won't work though. Thanks for the advice everyone.

What is it you expected flexies would do for you, with regard to land? You want the land to be flexible? Whatever for? Maybe you're unclear on what flexies do. If you want to make a flag that flaps in the breeze, or a tail that swishes and sways as you move, then flexies are your man. When it comes to sometrhing you can walk on, though, like land, that's just not what they're for. The flexing effect is purely graphical. You can't make a big flexible surface like a trampoline, if that's what you had in mind.
