You could Join some of the Second Life Groups, that role play as Police Officers. Gain some Inworld experience. Learn to walk the walk.

Most work details would entail providing Event management and anti-griefing security.

A mall, or large store, might be interested in an uniformed Officer. The work would be low pay, and you might be more of a Doorman, than a Cop.

If you could find several stores that would agree to pay you even the smallest amount of L$, you might be able to establish your own Police Force, share those L$ with your own Recruits, to work at the stores.

Keep it Fun, and not about Money. The stores would only have to pay as much as would keep the recruits happy.

Check the Inworld Employeement section of the forums.
Check job agencies in game.
Check roleplay Sims.

I haven't seen anyone hiring a police officer thus far, though some hire security personel for their clubs.
When you do find a job offer for the desired job, they will always tell you how to contact them and most often offer an application for you to fill out.

Most people in SL are self-employed, although there are plenty of people who work as entertainers (dancers, DJs, and performers), earning tips or a salary of sorts.  You can try posting in the Inworld Employment forum to see if anyone is interested in hiring someone with your talents.

There are police roleplay groups in Second Life.  Some of them even try to "enforce" the Second Life "laws".  This makes them unpopular with those of us who are aware that a) they have no authority to do so and b) there ARE no police and no laws in SL, other than Linden Lab employees and the Terms of Service and Community Standards.

But more to the point of your post, these roleplay positions are not "jobs" and aren't paid.
