You need to use a viewer that supports mesh.

Most newer ones do, I think maybe the older ones don't, but there are older ones that have incorporated mesh capabilities.

Tell us what viewer you are using. There is probably a similar one that you can use.

First of all, be sure that you are using a mesh-capable viewer like V3, Firestorm, or Phoenix.  If so, then go to PreferencesGraphics -> General; if you cannot see that tab full of options, click the Advanced button. Then enable, in order:

  • Basic Shaders
  • Hardware Skinning

If either of those remain greyed out, then increase the level of Render Quality until they become enabled and can be checked.

In some cases, worn mesh attachments will not render properly still. Go to PreferencesGraphics -> Rendering and disable both of the Alpha Mask Rendering options.

If none of the above work - and make sure you try all of them first! - then in the top menu bar, open Advanced → Debug Settings, find MeshMaxConcurrentRequests and gradually increase the value. It is recommended that you not go over 64; try to keep it less.

In addition to the two answers you've received already (both are excellent) you will need a little more graphics capabilities than what is required of a viewer that does not support mesh.  If you are running SL on a marginally spec'd system, you are almost guaranteed to encounter some graphics rendering issues.  SL is advancing in technology and, if one is going to keep up, then they need to advance along with SL.  If you are running on one of the older viewers that do not support mesh, get a copy of the setup file for that viewer before you go and get a mesh capable viewer........if your system is not equiped to handle the extra graphics load then you're going to be very disappointed to find out SL just won't run anymore on your computer.  A good rule to live by with anything computer is to think before you "upgrade".......if you are using a low end computer (or a computer older than about 5 years) make sure you can run the program after the "upgrade" before you jump into it.
