"Any self-respecting bureaucrat would be horrified by the free-for-all of driving in SL. You can rez a huge truck and barrel down the highway; knocking over any residents who get in the way.  What are the consequences? None! So perhaps it's surprising that our latest project was suggested by someone outside our SL bureaucracy. Three cheers for responsible SL citizenship!" Read more on the blog.

"There have been changes at our HQ since the masthead to The Gazette was made, so we thought it was time for an update. Most noticeable is the addition of a Post Office on site, with all the facilities you need to use our unique postal service. Yes, we know you could just use IMs to mail your stuff, but – trust us – our way is more fun. Come over and get yourself set up in time for Holiday gifting!" Read more on the blog.

"There was a time when teleporting was only possible in Second Life® at special telehubs – and then only for payment. Just as in real life cities, where proximity to transport links affects land value, it really mattered in those days to be near a hub. After all, your visitors were going to have to walk, fly or use a vehicle to get from the nearest hub to your place." Read more on the blog.

"The great, the good and the the rest of us assembled at the Bellisserian Embassy in Jeogeot last Tuesday at noon SLT. Overcoming a technical hitch which required her to find another computer to log in, the new ambassador finally arrived. BBB CEO and founder, Boo Rojyo welcomed us all and introduced Abnor Mole, who had the enormous key to the embassy to present to the new ambassador. He must have been happy he had an inventory, rather than just pockets, in which to carry such a big object to the event." Read more on the blog.

" I've been variously dreaming of and promising local mesh for a few years now; it has always been near the top of the TODO list without making it there. Now, finally, and due primarily to the efforts of Vaalith Jinn, who wrote the underlying mechanics for local mesh we are ready to unveil local mesh to the creator community. If Vaalith's name has a familiar ring to it then that may be because Vaalith was the originator of the current local textures feature we've all enjoyed for years." Read more on the blog.

"Prudence Anton has been a pillar of the Bellisserian Bureau of Bureaucracy for some time and especially since she merged her Bellisseria Parade of Homes venture into our bureaucracy. Sadly, her RL obligations mean she has had to retire from the BBB. She will be sadly missed." Read more on the blog.

Virtuality - 12.jpg

"Yesterday, September 13, Flickr posted on its blog a piece of very interesting news for the Second Life community: the possibility of categorizing one’s images as “ virtual photography “. This new category represents significant recognition for the images taken in Second Life that Flickr proves to appreciate and welcome with open arms in its photography community." "Our bureaucratic colleague AmandaT Tamatzui is an artist in RL as well as SL. She deploys her artistic talents for us in designing passport stamps but that's merely a sideline! She has won a Second Life Endowment for the Arts (SLEA) grant to realise in SL a dream she has long held in RL of turning her paintings into a 3D world in which people can move about." "The excitement is mounting about NatureCon 2022 – the new event for nature lovers in Second Life®. The Gazette has already featured a sneak preview of the Bellisserian Bureau of Bureaucracy's stand there and details of the DRFS Ferry Service to take you to the event. The inaugural NatureCon will run from the 18th through the 31st of August."
