"KT was an artist, a gifted poet and choreographer extraordinaire. Each week his gentle, melodic voice would, through his artistry and imagination, transport us to new worlds, new experiences. It might be a dawn walk along a mountain trail or a treatise on creating sand sculpture on a windy beach. It might be about the effect of sunlight on a falling leaf, a slow walk through a sleeping town or the lulling effect of the clackety-clack of trains in the distance." Read more on the blog.

"In the ever-evolving landscape of the digital age, the quest for spiritual connection and religious community has found a new frontier: the virtual world of Second Life.... As a Chaplain serving in Second Life, I’ve had the unique opportunity to witness firsthand how this virtual realm has become a sanctuary for many, offering a sense of presence and community that is often hard to find in other online platforms." "One of the ways in which I keep my finger on the pulse of Second Life is to head to YouTube, do a search for “second life”, then sort the results in reverse chronological order by the time they were uploaded (i.e. most recent videos first). Usually, I scroll back 24 to 48 hours to see what the latest SL videos are, and I always find something to delight and surprise me." Read more on the blog.

"WordPress offers daily writing prompt to inspire bloggers. I haven’t paid much attention to those. Actually, I haven’t paid any attention to those. Yesterday’s writing prompt however was “how do you practice self-care?” My honest answer to that question probably is “seldom and poorly”. Still, there are some things I find therapeutic." "On February 18, I saw an email from the wonderful Mr. Lawrence Pryce, inviting me to create a spring-like picture for his Bloom of Spring Campaign. I hesitated since I was unable to move my left arm, making it impossible to properly edit a picture in Photoshop. But I figured, since the deadline was a month away, I could work on the picture bit by bit and make it happen." Read more on the blog.

No time for real life - 9.jpg

"This week the Basement Club celebrates seven years in Second Life. We are very lucky to have this for sure. I give credit to the wonderful people who stop by and say hello. Some come back week after week, and some visit ever so often. Whether you come once or many times we welcome you to listen to the incredible DJs and people with music knowledge." "The opening party for ReConstruct was a great success. DJ Viv gave us two hours of period music to match the 1940s/1950s theme including some songs that reflected the pre-apocalyptic, dark humour of a tougher generation than our own. Cate Infinity of Infinite Productions, Dave of the Limoncello Art Gallery and their guests danced among the exhibition’s artworks in the bombed-out ruins of a building in Tempelhof on a remote, forgotten German island." Goodbye, Palomma.

"A bit of sad news this evening, FabFree.  Palomma Casanova, owner of The Free Dove, succumbed to a long illness on January 14th.  She was a very kind, generous person and will be sorely missed inworld.  In the next few days, I’m going to be posting a few items that I picked up at The Free Dove to honour her memory.  She would have liked everyone to enjoy the gifts while they are still there." Sadie : Lament

"Every year like clock work the day of ones birth comes around. In Second Life it is known as ones Rez Day. In real life it is ones birthday. Birthdays are about celebrating life. It is to celebrate the person being part of this universe and how their life might have touched others. To celebrate with them while they are alive. Some people like to throw celebrations and birthday parties. After all, everyone loves a birthday party, right?" Read more on the blog.

Science Circle - 1.png

"I love Halloween. It’s really my favorite holiday. This year I’m going to curl up with movies, Bell, Book and Candle and The Mummy, a bowl of popcorn and a glass of dry red wine. OK, so this is a column about science. To justify this particular offering, I decided to see if I could find any scientific excuses for my enjoyment of Halloween." Read more on the blog.
