    Three words:

    1) PRETEENS

    2) ARE

    3) RADIOACTIVE

I wouldn't be surprised if this started out by someone from Linden Lab reading a certain Medium article and wondering, "Jeepers, what if someone honest/competent decided to do something like this?"

What the Lab has to avoid is people from outside Second Life running across, "Look at how you can make this cute kid avatar! Look at how nekkid they can get!" And those things spring from seeing child-avatar-specific content. You can absolutely make a 12-year-old hoochette using adult bodies/add-ons/clothing, but that wouldn't be obvious to an observer of the Marketplace.

Realistically, anyone playing a human character less than about 12 will need to get a child-specific body, which is why those were shown in the illustrations. There are some child-specific skins but mostly for little kids - none of my characters using Tweenster bodies use them. If the body has perma-pantsu that should take care of skins automatically.

Like I said, the requirements for content creators and child avatar users are separate. My big question right now is if they decide to go nuclear on the old child-specific avatars and remove them from people's inventories. That would be a pain but I could personally live with it if the underwear was cute and had options - it might even inspire the makers to fix the bad neck joints most child avatars have while they're making changes.

Hmm, since I logged in for the first time, more then 16 years ago, I was informed and aware that *geplay was a no go in SL. And that rule hasn't changed since then.

I'm almost sorry that "how old do I look today?" thread got a little borked and disappeared. It would've been amusing to see how that turned out. Maybe LL would've learned some useful data from that, as well (not to trust our judgment, mostly, lol).

As for windlight settings, I noticed the FAQ mentioned taking AR snapshots in Midday. I haven't used that setting in a million years (nor do I AR anyone, so there's that), so I have no idea why that would be a thing.

Midday Legacy or the normal midday :D

This just gets more and more ludicrous the more you consider the variables.

Asking residents to use their best judgement is bad enough but when you consider all the bugs and issues surrounding avatars and attachments as well as just how customisable "viewer experience" is in SL it seems an almost comical solution.

That's what I wanted to point out. When someone is AR'ing you because you are looking too young to them, you have to take the windlight setting of that person in consideration.

Maybe LL should just come out and say, if you wanna be considered adult you must be at least 6 ft 6 inches tall .

Once again ... over my dead pixelated body. My avatar is a reflection of the RL me, and I did already compromise in height to be considered as an adult in here. If I would use my RL height, I would be kicked out every club, region or whatever that is on Moderate or Adult land.

  5. @Rowan Amore Baffled? Just proving a point for all that think that they only can create child avatars with a Maitreya, that this isn't the case. You can create a child/teen avatar with any body currently available, if needed with the amount of deformers (which I did not used (don't have deformers)) available in SL.

So, go ahead and force every body creator in SL to create versions with baked in mesh.

    New ToS.

Child Avatars have until 30th June 2024 to switch to a ToS compliant body with non removable no mod modesty panels.

Any child avatar wearing a non ToS compliant body after that date is a Walking ToS Violation and liable to be banned.

A Maitreya Lara has no modesty panels, so anyone using a Lara to make a child avatar after 30th June, is in violation of the ToS.

Any adult body ... there, corrected it for you.

Well with Maitreya  if they don't want to get mixed up in the mess they can just say ... nopity, nope.  No updates planned. It won't lose them customers since the bodies have been bought.  Well other than new word of mouth customers that want to play younger teens.  Frankly I don't know where I'd land on that subject if I were a creator in that situation not specifically creating for underage avatars.

*Sigh* Why drag Maitreya into the conversation? Ah, 1 % of the users of this body is abusing it to make a teen alt with it, so we will scr*w over the 99% that is using the body as intended. Don't know if you know it, but the Legacy Perky body comes with a Petite Add-on included in the folder and with the correct deformers, which are available in SL in a wide range, you can make it so that it looks like a teen. In fact, you can make any adult body that is current available in SL to look like a minor with the correct skins, heads and deformers. Shall we ban all head creators, body makers, deformer creators from SL?

No, because Moderate allows nudity, but surely you know this.

Wrong, "Moderate" doesn't allow promotion of sexual activities in public nor private:

"Residents in these spaces should therefore expect to see a variety of themes and content. Stores that sell a range of content that includes some "sexy" clothing or objects can generally reside in Moderate rather than Adult regions. Dance clubs that feature "burlesque" acts can also generally reside in Moderate regions as long as they don't promote sexual conduct, for instance through pose balls (whether in "backrooms" or more visible spaces). However if any of these businesses uses adult-oriented search tags, the region may be categorized as Adult and blocked from appearing in non-Adult search."

I know a lot of people who is a Maitreya that want to try Legacy and they say Legacy is too expensive 5000 or 5,500L$? That's like 22.27$ or 24.49$ People don't even want to spend 25$ for the body they want, I don't see people buying AP and A.V. Ontop  charging L and or paying a premium every month and if they're paying for a sim every month.

And you know what body they want?

How will those new players learn second life, in a new comer area, if they don't learn how to wear their avatars?

Also, if you start IDing people that will only start to drive people off because a lot of people like to protect their information. Though there are some of us that have purchased Linden, you're advocating for the I.D. system that not only failed but

You're asking for I.D, Name, Address, Passport, Social Security Numbers or Passport I.D.

what will happen when someone Have all that information?

*facepalm* You don't rezz nekid as newbie, the first time you log into SL. My base avatar looked like a bag of potatoes in a pink polkadot dress with a flexi skirt and something that you couldn't recognize as hair.
