    I'm not sure either, I want to see,  since I know what the problem was before on the physical hosts,  I'm wondering about this aws hosting setup they have it on.  since nobody wants me to go play on their sim like I am going to do lol.  so figured ask the lindens.

    IDT anyone is going to greenlight that.

    Ohhh I got something a bit better.  did it on the crash me sims and brought those down instantly each and every time until they patched it,  so wanted to see if these would do the same lol.

    Why would it not be patched on an event region?

    well I dont want to get into trouble for what I'm planning is why I'm asking in here lol.

    How was I supposed to know "test" meant "lag/crash the hell out of it"? 🙄

    I have a target game I bought that is played in mouse mode and when I play it or an alt plays it with edit rights the game itself moves a bit  from clicking on it. It is not set to physical so there is no reason it should be moving about. Not sure if this is some form of edit option in mouse view mode ... but is there a way to turn this off?

    Please file a bug report at https://jira.secondlife.com with steps to reproduce the behavior.

    i thought these were the new event regions, which we can get for our own events

    I think there are very few people whose dreams are shattered because they can't build over 20,000 prims. I find most tenants never use all their prims and some very impressive themed communities in SL also don't use all their prims.

    LL advertises Event Regions as allowing 30k prims max, even suggesting over 20k can create affect performance.

    Why should LL fail to follow their own suggestion, even extending the prim allowance far above what everyone else gets and no one be allowed to complain?

    Ancient Mole didn't even use up all the prims on Arboretum with "only" a 13,000 prim build with lots of plants and textures AND an elevator. I would think putting real elevators in a sim that you intend to put 60 avatars on or more is a recipe for disaster. Still, it's highly cool and I believe this is the finest build in the Metaverse.

    I just went to SLB Exhilarate which is using over 50k of the 60k max prims.

    Portal Park is another example, but with 36k prims used out of the 45k max.

    I think the Moles should have to work with the same limits as the rest of us. 😤

    It's sort of unfair that we can't also increase our region's prim max to whatever it takes to facilitate extravagant builds.

    It could also be misleading to those who see such builds, want to purchase a region with the idea of setting up their own concept only to have their dreams shattered when they find out 20k or even 30k max prims isn't going to cut it.

    I'd say that it's unusual to do something like that in a full perm script, since you can obviously see the entire code and edit out the lines that are requiring the creator's UUID to be on the root prim. It is a fairly common practice in no-mod scripts, though. Writing a script to require either the creator's UUID or the creation time of the root prim to match what's hard-coded into the script is a good way to prevent people from lifting your work and selling it as their own.

    And at the advent of llGetInventoryAcquireTime(), even going as far as reference a hardcoded script acquire time to prevent dropping the script into another same creator/creation time prim/mesh while still allowing resetting.

  8. I think Event regions need to come with 60,000 max prims like the 4 regions the Arboretum uses for SL19B.

    More user capacity is one thing, but the same prims as a 30k region at almost 3.5x the price? Come on.

    Gimme 100k prims to make me feel like I'm getting my money's worth.

    If LL ever offered large regions, like 1024x1024, 2048x2048 and 4096x4096, I wonder what they'd charge for them?

    🦾🦿👶?

    It's probably just a regular region being hyped with the new buzz words.

    No, the region details show it is indeed an Event region.

    It's just running neutered for some reason.

    "Looks" like it was a conversion instead of a new purchase.

  10. LL showcased how "efficient/attractive" Event regions were with their trainwreck opening of SL19B:

    Pretty embarrassing if you ask me.

    They should call them "Crash Event" regions instead. 😆

    Question No. 1: How could the sex be made more realistic in Second Life?

    Animation Reform.

    Among the many needs is the ability to insert IK profiles into existing animations(while playing) or allow IK only(no bone translation/rotation) animations that can be played simultaneously with other playing animations.

    We need IK support so we can actually put hands on body parts instead of having them grabbing at the air or poking inside the other person due to variable body shapes.

    The same goes for all "limbs".

    IKs would result in far less adjusting.

    Camera control reform.

    Fix how broken mouselook looks while sitting.

    Introduce restrictions so you cannot cam down your throat or look 180 degrees behind you.

    Allow scripts to put the user in mouselook and show only specific body parts and/or allow limb fading/silhouetting (like porn MMO/games allow).

    Mouselook(1st person) sex could be so much better. INB4 the VR HMD fanbois...

    I had asked on Builders Brewery and after thinking nobody was around I post here... and then Lucia and Xan offered their solutions too....

    Lucia

     vector pos = llGetPos();
     vector tgt = pos + <1, 0, 0> * llGetRot();
     rotation heading = llRotBetween(<1.0, 0.0, 0.0>, llVecNorm(<tgt.x - pos.x, tgt.y - pos.y, 0>));
     // I then used the heading to set the rotation of the child prim by subtracting the root rot: heading / llGetRootRot()

    Xan

    integer link = llGetLinkNumber();
    vector r2f = llRot2Fwd(llGetRot());
    llSetLinkPrimitiveParamsFast(link,[PRIM_ROT_LOCAL,llEuler2Rot(<0.0,0.0,llAtan2(r2f.y,r2f.x)>) / llList2Rot([llGetRootRotation(),ZERO_ROTATION],link < 2)]);

    Now I'm off to see how Quistess's works. Thanks all!

    You have those names reversed, btw. 😉

    Xan's was probably better. I pulled my example from an old test object I made and I think my reasoning for not using llRotBetween was due to bugs.

    There actually is a difference! When you restart a region, you just restart the region. When we do rolling restarts, we restart the machine* the regions are running on. Helps clean out lingering memory issues and it has that nice new-simhost smell.

    * Okay, this isn't technically true because it's The Cloud, but it's basically true.

    Data is mesh body & mesh chest mod followed by count and % of that mesh body's total count.

    So, for example, with #1, 6.2% of 'Maitreya - Lara' wearers were also wearing 'Maitreya - Lara (Petite)' : 7792 / 124611 = 6.2%
