There are chat range extenders that anyone with rez rights can use.

If a rule doesn't clearly reflect the intent of the rulemaker, the onus is on them. As I said before, rules should be read literally. If LL meant all participants, they could have and should have said "all participants'" instead of "a participant's." If they meant one other participant's, they could have and should have said "one other participant's" instead of "a participant's." Absent a statement about their intent from LL, saying that they meant anything other than exactly what they said is speculative.

Publication of chat by a third party that surreptitiously recorded it is prohibited no matter how one interprets it.

In RL. I live in a one-party state. I know that, if I am on a conference call, anyone on the call who also lives in a one-party state is free to record the call and do as they please with the recording, so I need to either not be on calls with people I don't trust or not say anything I don't want made public.

I don't understand why anyone would discuss anything sensitive in open chat, anyway. Wouldn't anyone use IM for that? If you need a group discussion, it's easy enough to IM with several people. I would never be completely confident that no one was listening in on open chat.

Isn't a confidentiality requirement that applies only to LL servers next to meaningless? It's always seemed strange to me that LL didn't put any impediment at all in place to prevent publication of IM logs elsewhere. I wouldn't expect a big effort, but they could, for example, say in the TOS that text entered in IM and chat is subject to copyright, and the person who enters it retains all rights. That would give people a fairly big stick if it was published elsewhere.

I was mostly focusing on this part of Coffee's comment:

would be really nice if we could have a region setting for local chat range that went all the way up to "everywhere".

LL implemented region console settings to change whisper, say and shout ranges, but did not expose them yet so only Lindens can use it ATM.

Chat range extenders that relay local chat over a wide area for clubs and the like are an edge case, would be really nice if we could have a region setting for local chat range that went all the way up to "everywhere".

You mean the thing that was implemented over two years ago and only LL can use ATM? 😉

One example: Debauchery Sextional Sofa v1.00 [copy]' Sectional Sofa, in anim section  >From behind: LVSxDoggy1

I don't see that furniture in Area Search at their store despite having a MP listing.

    Know any other makes/models?

i hope this is the right place to post.

i need help finding a "male sex organ" that works with the Maitreya body. Is there one? i have found strap on attachments that work, but are there any "real ones" that will line up properly with the maitreya body?

i've tried a couple demos (VAW, and 2 Birth), but so far either i'm dumb, and can't make them work, or they just won't connect to the body (theres a gap). i hope it is okay to ask here!

Birth's bento peens should have offsetting capability. Their Zeus model does at least.

    Most rigged peens should, tbh.

Linden Lab needs to get Second Life un-banned from Twitch.

    Why?

No one on Twitch cares about jazz/blues clubs, art exhibits, scenery or flying/driving/sailing crappy vehicles from one crappy region to another crappy region.

    They care about gaming.

Also, Linden Realms, crappy SL combat systems and RL tabletop ripoffs do NOT count as "gaming".

Give us industry standard equivalent tools for creating games, first.

Thank you Lucia; it is used by several creators of devices but the creator of the anims may be someone else. A few from different devices: LVS x handjob, LVSxDoggy1

Again, it would help if you could mention a creator of either the product using the animations or the creator of the animations them self or post a MP url to a product that allegedly uses them.

The Cool VL Viewer offers the possibility to remove entries directly via the TP history floater: you can remove a selected entry, all the entries older or newer than the selected entry, all the entries corresponding to the same parcel or the same region, or everything...

Does it allow you to delete cached autoreplace terms in search?

I wish Firestorm had that ability.

Tired of my previous misspelled search terms coming up before the correct spelling when I type.

Just for a moment try to imagine where SL could stand at the moment if all those effords would have been put in the repairs and further enhancement of the usability of our beloved world.
    Kind of makes me sad.
We as consumers payed and are probably still paying to recoup from the losses from the Sansar project and got nothing more out of it than 35 shades of water and skies, and a 360 degrees picture possibility.

    🤐

Even if LL never spent that capital, development would not have been any different in SL.

The same slow as mud development and disconnect from management over what this platform needs to attract/maintain new users will never change until the dinosaurs in charge go extinct (retire) and staff in tune with industry standards and use case are hired in their place.

Every user group showcases that we have entirely the wrong people making decisions.

You will also need to set up experience scripter perms in your land group?...

IMO, Experience Admin/Contributor abilities should not be given out to anyone unless it is absolutely, positively, 100% necessary.

Experiences do not even need to have a group set in the profile unless to facilitate this.

Flagrantly/Ignorantly setting both can lead to anonymous bad actors in a group wrecking things, possibly resulting in your experience being shut down.

Hello there! i just wanted to ask if you can somehow wear different bodyparts from different avatars/stuff in your inventory, since i know you can attach different heads to other torsos i thought maybe this would be possible, i found a pretty cool avatar but i thought i would look better if it had the legs of another avatar i have and before experimenting with it i just wanted to ask it here.

I know most avatars have HUDS that lets you hide certain bodyparts and i was curious if that would be a potential way to go about it?

The body i'm talking about is the ONA kobold.

That being said, to anyone replying to this, thank you in advance!!

    Yes and no.

You really have to try it out, preferably with demos.

I have seen some of the weirdest combinations magically work when I thought there would be compatibility issues.

You mentioned the kobold body, but what other body's legs are you trying to use it with?

A UV coordinate at the very edge of a texture does not pull its color info from the pixel at the edge of the texture. That's because SL always averages all the nearby pixels based on distance and always treats textures as wrapping around in both directions. (Other rendering engines let you control these behaviors, but SL doesn't.) The left edge of the UV map is NOT the middle of the leftmost pixel, for example -- the absolute left edge lies halfway between the leftmost pixel and the wrapped-around-rightmost.

Consider putting this 2x2 texture on a cube face. I've duplicated it in multiple directions so you can see the wraparound joinings, but only the bright 4 squares in the middle are the actual texture.

    image.png.1a78922d8424ea278535ee23d8925abd.png

Since the default prims run their UV maps all the way to the edge, you're only going to get pure green from the top left at a UV of about (0.25, 0.75) -- that's the actual center of the square box marking the upper left pixel. When Second Life goes to display that cube in the world, any surface point less than 1/4 of the way into the cube will blend in other pixels from the opposite edges because the UV coordinates are getting closer to pixel borders.

    image.png.4151181a7df31f77297773a6c1705132.png

Custom meshes can avoid this by not creating their custom UV maps all the way to the edge in the first place, but that's not an option for standard prims. Instead, you need to tweak the texture scale so the middles of the outer pixels creep closer to 0.0 and 1.0 on the U and V axes. (SL scales textures from the center, so you fortunately don't have to tweak offsets too).

Higher-res textured won't be this extreme, of course, but they only shrink the width of the problem area along the edge.

There have been feature requests for the option to turn on/off nearest neighbor protocol for a prim/mesh face only for it to be met with the timeless classic, "No time to tackle!".

There is also OpenGL equivalent parameters to turn on/off repeats with last pixel color/alpha used instead. I forget the terminology. These features would allow some interesting content to be made.
