  1. Hi thank you very much for the answer. One more question, does it have to be a certain file like png or something else? I used a normal map with png but i don't seem to see any difference. Should it be black and white or normal map color like bluish?

  5. Hi all, I am new in creating in sl. I am wondering if sometimes I can change the prices of my products in the MP listing without changing it on the mesh itself by editing it in world. For example, I made a flower and made it 15L in world while editing it but in the market place, I want to put 10L for a week then change it back to 15L. I just want to see what sells. Can I do that or do I have to change the price inworld on the mesh as well? I do not have a shop inworld and I do not see why I must have one lol they are selling in the marketplace anyway. So the products are all in marketplace from my inventory. After having more than 10 products, it is getting hard to go and change each one and then remember which ones I changed. I hope I can put whatever price I want in the market place without changing the price of the product on the product itself inworld. My second question is something different. I was wondering if I can add more bumpmaps options inside sl edit area where we load textures and we can add shine and bump and all. Is there a way to add my own bumps there somehow? I want to put leaf texture bumpmaps. Or if there is anway to add my own bumbmaps anywhere at all? So far I only see I can upload textures and use them in the texture slot and choose options sl provides like shine, glow... I just need leaf and petal bumpmaps I have. Thank you!!!!!!!

Hi all, I have no clue about scripting but I was wondering if I make a mesh flower with stalks, leaves, pollen and petals all attached and exported as 1 prim mesh and if there is any chance to, say, add a script to it and change the petal colors but not in a cycling animation way just whatever color i choose stays on it. I make 3d mesh flowers but know absulately nothing about scripting. So I wonder if this is possible but also because it is a mesh and all the parts are attached and exported as 1. So how would you write a script that changes only the petal colors and not the leaf color, for example? I see some flowers in MP and they say you can change the colors of these and 8 colors included and so on. Not sure if they are meshes and if this works on meshes. Any clue will be greatly appreciated. Oh another question. Is it possible to make anything as breedable (like horses) Can I make trees "breed"? Is this a script thing? It would be magic!
  7. Thank you for all the answers. You gave me some hope. It is great to hear that there are people out there like me. I wish sl made a minimum price limit for each category. Another 3d world has that and it works just fine. I guess I just have to do my best and keep trying for better. I appreciate all the info. I almost didn't think I should continue here. I made 4 products so far and not sure if i priced them right but I will start with 10-50L as I am right now making only avatar attachments and then go from there.
  8. Hi all, I am new at creating in sl but have done tons in other places. I checked the marketplace and saw so many 1L products and some of them are very well made meshes. How do you compete with those prices? Do you really make any money here? I am wondering if I should try to make products here or not and not sure how to price them. I am mostly interested in making flowers and floral accessories. I can make clothes and so on but haven't learned to export them here yet. Any ideas are appreciated.

  10. As for as I know there is no derivable mesh submitting her like in imvu or nuvera. But when u submit a product to the market place there is a page you fill like a short click click page for the info of the product and at the bottom you can put someone else's name to make them earn some of your earnings when the product is sold but I am new in creating in sl I wouldn't yet sell my mesh to someone and expect them to give me credits because it depens on the person to put your name in there or not. It is not automatic. In sl it seems we have to be the mesh maker and the texture artist for that mesh. If someone here knows better please tell us. I don't know why you get that insufficient payment info. If the upload is too expensive like over 25L there are ways to make it cheaper by playing with the settings during the mesh upload. I got one mesh automaticly saying it costs 66L to upload and I played around after readint those info pages, got it down to 11L But the only difference is when you look at the mesh from far away you dont's see it with all the details. Only when you come close you see the actual mesh as you made it. Maybe you are getting a bug. Maybe do a google search for insufficient amount error during upload. You can also download normal sl viewer and before login to sl, click alt + control + g and you will see a new drop down area appears near login and you will see a new grid shows Aditi grid. You can go there to a sandbox and upload ur mesh and textures for free because it gives you 50.000lindens to test ur meshes. But you can only test things there and they stay in that account. Once you log off you have nothing. I even sent a product from there to market place but it does not allow me to buy it hehe cause it is only a test. I have been reading and reading for the last 4 days now and my eyes r hurting. Just keep reading there is not much info about 3ds max in sl so just a few things to read. But i have been watching blender in sl tutorials on youtube to figure things out for 3ds max. I don't know blender but i learn a lot trying to apply them in 3ds max lol Just a lot of hard work first i have to understand blender then go to 3ds max and figure it out there haha. I started creaing here maybe 4 days ago so I have tons to look at. I hope this helps.
  11. Hi, I am new here like you I used 3ds max elsewhere. I also opened a group for new people like me in sl. We can chat there as I am working most of the time while dancing in sl (3Ds Max in SL Help Group) I hope I am allowed to write the group name here. Here is what I learned so far. I uploaded 2 meshes into sl and sent them to market place. -You don't need the primcomposer plugin anymore. You can export ur mesh as is from 3ds Max. -In order to export your mesh, you need autodesk collada exporter installed and you export as .DAE (not the collada nuvera uses but collada from autodesk) -You need to pass a vitual policies test and have payment info in your account. When you try to upload a mesh in sl if u can not upload it, it says why right there check the link it gives you, it will take u to the test. -Anything else let me know. I just started so maybe I won't know but we can help each other.
  12. Yes I like the idea of animating the textures. I wonder how it is done tho since it is not an option in the editor. We need scripts for that right? I saw a class coming up on animated textures I hope I can figure it out but it is 2 days ahead lol can't wait.

  14. I am now wondering if this person sells the maps specific to his/her products. It would help if u showed a texture. Just put watermarks on it and show us. If they r flower pictures it is as I mentioned before, if they are like wiremaps, they must be specific to some meshes. You would then have to buy the mesh (or maybe s/he is giving it free) for you to retexture it by putting color on the maps. I am not sure if this is done in sl but it is done in IMVU and Nuvera. You take someone's mesh and recolor them according to the maps. This way you don't have to make your own meshes. I am new in creating in sl so without seeing the maps I can not really tell you. If they are flower pictures than all you need to do is make several planes and link them and put the flower textures on them. For blender you can go to youtube and look for beginner tutorials. There are hundreds of them. Just keep watching and trying yourself, it really takes time to grasp like a few days to make a simple table when you are a beginner.
  15. Oh I did it in local first and then click upload. I guess this was not enough. I still have to go to inventory and load them onto the mesh again :>
  16. Mesh making is done in a 3d program like blender. It will take u a while to learn not so easy but u can take classes in sl or read tutorials online. Are the textures you bought in png format or jpg? If so, you can make trees in a sandbox in sl. This is how it was done before mostly.
  17. If u saw a palm tree from me it was from my real account in sl. I made it inactive cause i bought it and saw no textures. Yes, the aditi allows you to send ur product to market place and u actually see it but u can not buy it. It actually makes u open a new store and everything...
  18. Now I have another problem. This is done in my main accout in secondlife in a sandbox. I textured a palm tree, just leaves and the trunk. Looks good. I took a copy to my inventory and re-rezzed it to see if the textures are stil on yes they r there. But i sent it to the market place and bought it as a gift to my alt account to see if all is good. No textures!!! Just a blank white palm tree mesh. What did I do wrong? Is there something I need to click to keep the textures on while editing the product in sl? How come the textures didnt stick? Feeling bad
  19. Ok yes all is done in the aditi grid and i sent it to market place. I uploaded the mesh there, tried textures on, uploaded textures and set price, then sent the folder to outbox and then sent it to the market place. All in aditi. I did not get charged in my main account in secondlife. I kept checking. Ha and when i go to my account there is no added product!!!!!! So although it says the file is sent there is no file sent
  20. I dont think I got charged but I have to check. I should be charged I assume. I have to try another mesh upload; the one i sent to market place was already uploaded in my the main grid before. I just added textures to it and sent it to market place. Now please remember this is my first time building anything in sl so I am sorry if I give any wrong information. I am just learning.
  21. I would like to make my mesh palm a wind animated one, I mean I would like the palm move a bit. Can I just do that in sl with some settings? I have looked while editing in sl but I can not seem to figure it out. Now if this is not possible for meshes, I would like to animate the tree with bones in my 3ds Max and upload them to sl. Can anyone tell he the steps. For example, how to I export the bones? Do I use physique or skin medifier to attach the bones to the tree? Or Do I just move the mesh in 3ds max and I don't even need the bones? What file extension is for animation export and do I need to put any scripts or anything in the Contents folder? I appreciate it. Thank you.
  22. Hi, I am new as 3d creator in secondlife. I have donesomething like 4000 meshes in imvu but anyway I would like to make some floral accessories in sl. I am confused about the difference between fitted mesh and mesh. I use 3ds max and the default female avatar secondlife provides for 3ds max (havent tried the avastar yet) since i got this one for free. Can I do a fitted mesh accessory with that and what is a fitted mesh please? Thanks.
  23. I got in aditi and textured my flower. But don't know what to do after that. I will see what happens next I also got 59K lindens waw waw lol I did it!!! I sent my first ever product to the marketplace from aditi!!! I hope all goes well. Only one thing scares me. What if for some reason in the future I can not log into aditi?? I will never be able to see my products or modify them since they don't appear in secondlife grid inventory.
