Without that blog, nobody will care. Tomorrow things might improve slightly. Life is ... well, beautiful. Timing makes a pudding delicious, so furries hear spoons jingling hypnotically in Ahern unless they poke spork into sensitive sexy mice. Whining solves pitchforks, but why and who, Caligula? Who and what mayonnaise does considerable light saltiness Twinkies. Who gesturebated at llamas everyday? Drama! But love is fuzzy. Ironically, yesterday became tomorrow, briefly, softly, invalidating outspoken
  3. This approach is fine for people who are no longer interested in Second Life. But if one is still very much interested in SL and it is heading in a direction one doesn't like, why not discuss it and get a bit loud if needed? A lot too loose if one still likes SL, so why not.
  4. It is a speculation, as good or as bad of the ones from all the others here. We all know nothing more than what we see from the outside and discuss the possibilities. I for instance see mainly hedge fund practice going on since the (new) investors stepped in a few years ago: 1. Split up the company in parts. 2. Dress up the interesting parts that can be sold as good as possible. 3. Sell those parts for a profit. 4. Leave the remaining parts with all dept and let them go under. What I see is that we reached step 3. So yeah.. I'm not really positive at the moment, but do I know for certain? No of course not, I can only interpret what I see. But sadly, if it looks like ...... and it smells like ...... there is a good chance it really is ....... I hope I'm wrong, because SL is still my favorite waist of time after all these years.
  5. Sure, but the investment needed to acquire Tilia, will be written of on the Tilia balance. No doubt about that. That's common practice. So there is a dept that has to be recovered by....... (Hint: not by purchasing Eurojackpot lottery tickets either.)
  6. But the seperate company will need to make profit too... It will not be made by buying Powerball lottery tickets I presume. So... keep your wallet at hand over the next few years, ladies and gentlemen.
  7. Als het geen Walen zijn.. want dan moet het in het Frans.
  8. Except that I think that the SL overlords might have chosen the hedge funds road here. But of course nothing more than speculating, like we all do in this thread. No one knows more than what the article stated.
  9. Hedge funds split up the company in parts, sell what they can sell with a profit and dump the costs as much as possible on the part(s) they let sink in the swamp. That's how they maximize their profits.
  10. Even Second Life isn't there to benefit us. It is still around to rake in as much money as they can lay their hands on. Second Life isn't a social product but a business.
  11. It could benefit the pockets of the investors too or even solemnly. (Me looking at the half empty glass now)
  12. There are people who just are a tat more critical about Linden Lab than the full time Linden Lab cheerleaders on this forum. What's wrong with that? It helps with discussions if there are more flavors than only vanilla available. A glass can be perfectly half full and half empty at the same time.
  13. They will guaranty you with a straight innocent face, that it is a sunny Wednesday morning on a rainy Friday afternoon, if needed to succeed.
  14. In the end we only can wait and see what happens. But that is the case with literally everything that is discussed here on the forums about Second Life and Linden Lab.
  15. Partnerships sadly don't guaranty that both partners stay afloat.
  16. If this news had been a few days earlier, I would not have renewed my P+ for a whole year. The feeling is not good when a company starts selling off their most promising "for the future" parts.
  17. Wait until the customers whine, because the prices (like the ones from Happy Weekend) go up again. Or when the exchange fees go up for buying L$.
  18. That is sadly the scenario most of the time, when this kind of selling off happens. Maybe the investors don't see how to solve "the elephant in the room" problem, so they go for the money and let the rest sink in the swamp. The sky is falling again.
